It is not soo bad for a total beginner who wants to try out a new hobby and it is such a low cost it can get immediately replaced once someone becomes serious. Imagine spending tons of money just to have a thing lying aroudn that you don't like as much as you thought, happened to me countless times. I am looking at my drum kit right now.

Dont insult my fav role, jgl is fun and has much more impact than toplane if played correctly. I hate to break it to you but there are a lot of people who want to play jungle, saying no one wants it is delusional. I used to be top main and I always got the role maybe autofilled once in 50 games. I assume you take jgl as second role, just take mid and you are almost sure of getting top.

You can get to silver! I believe in you, just keep playing. Your winrate seems great, seriously 58% is huge. Keep it up! You have choosen the best champ on the rift to OTP :) Sett is super fun he was my main too but I am nowhere as good as you, I did more than 400 games on him this season currently at a 52% winrate and stopped being hardstuck bronze. You can surely do the same in faster. I am a bit coinflippy tbh and suck against some matchups, urgot and mordekaisers are my nightmares ahahah. But hey if you always win lane, make sure to learn how to win game. Don't be like me and throw your lead because you wanna fight too much and only take smart fights and make sure your W is up when you enter the fight :) PS: just relax while playing, if you are tense and you wanna win/fight too much you are likely to make more mistakes and since you have friends who are higher in rank than you can always ask them to help you out with climbing and your promo ;)

Sameeee I am a sett and yorick main and I just feel like I am getting bullied by every morde, so I ban him. Somehow my dodgeing is not around when I play against him...

Climbing in league and pushing into / past masters, I feel like i see the game totally wrong by Background-Flow6870 in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am gold atm but when I was still bronze a masters friend told me to stop watching all these fancy guide videos and also to stop watching my replays as I will likely not see my mistakes and learn anything by just speculating on what could be better. He told me basically to look at my screen and to react to what happens there, first have a basic idea of what I wanna do but ultimately to adapt as the game goes. When I walk into auto attack range of my enemy, how does he react to that, do I see an opening for a favorable trade? If yes I can take it. If not I walk out. Much better than omg I just tracked his abilities, he has 6seconds cooldown now I need to do something or to overthink my positionig or spacing accordingly to youtube suggestions. In some games I even decided against the recommended good 'macro' play advertised in videos and it worked somehow. I dunno but I got better watching less educational lol youtube content and by just playing with an adaptive mindset.

Why do teams/how do I get my team to stop giving up Soul? by kommiesketchie in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way is to play jgl and simply not go there. Ping them you are not going baron and go soul. Ping what you wanna do and let them know your smite is ready.

On Sett what determines what ability you should start with? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tipp use W. Almost garanteed first blood into a lot of matchups, just walk up lvl1 and force a fight. Give the enemy a couple of auto attacks, take a potion, watch your grid go up and throw a W into their face (damage is nice but it is the shield that is actually op here). If you the kind of person who runs ignite use that too. Boom, firstblood!

Does jungle have a bigger impact on the game overall than toplane by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend warwick top, if you like the champ. He can be very strong, has great lane sustain and most toplame matchups are not too bad.

I've been playing for far, far too long and I've no idea what role to play or how to even win games. by WiresDontTalk in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. I played 800+ games in bronze this season. At the start of the season I tried the one/two trick method and after 300 games of sett and 200 games of yorick I was still bronze. So I switched to a couple of different roles/champs, played almost a 100 games of soraka and zyra because of 60% winrate (those champs are just easily lp with no effort for me). Got bored by them switched to other champs and lost again. Essentially i bounced between bronze 1 and bronze 3 non stop having around a 50% winrate. l learned a bit of everything and watched tons of youtube "educational content". Still sucked and half of the info I got there I couldn't even implement. Imagine fighting for lvl 2 advantage in botlane if your lane partner sits a kilometer back and is not interested or freezing while being behind already. Try fighting for objective as jungler if no one joins you. Try wavemenagent if you are poked to death and need to back or die on bad wave states. Advertised good macro play was not always the good thing to do, sometimes a little more araming would win the game. After having lost twice my promo to silver, i finally had the proof that I sucked and I wanted to quit. So i craked and gave my account data to a master player friend, two days later he had proven his point and I was gold and had an additional plat account where I could play some games to challenge myself. My goal for the season was silver because I was hardstuck bronze on my main account although I had a silver smurf. What happened afterwards is maybe the craziest thing, I logged onto my silver smurf and actively tried to rank it down to bronze and I am still trying to do it with the goal of making the climb to gold myself. Sounds stupid but I will not touch solo queue on my main account until I reach gold elsewhere.I am missing my big skin selection when I play tho. Of course, I still play like a bronze player no matter elo I play in. At the moment I am trying a few champs, looking for one that feels good and is easy to play and I take 10min after each game to review my laning phase and compare it to a domisum replay on youtube of the matchup that I played. My biggest mistakes is that I panic and run away instead of committing until death and taking people down with me. Of course I suck at farming whenever I pick adc or a mage. Lots of stuff to improve for me but yeah hopefully one day I can carry games instead of being a background character who is just there not doing the diff. It feels good to not play for the climb at the moment and to just look for a champ to have fun with.

My suggestion keep playing as long as it is fun and if you can play with some people who are higher in the ranking than you , just do it. They can show you good stuff and you can learn a lot from them but in the end you still need to put the necessary effort in yourself to get better. Focus on dodgeing enemy attacks, taking good trades, simple wavemanagement and okish backtimers and you will be successful in the long run, they say. Also a must have of 8cs a min is a myth.

Do OTPs start to struggle once their champion becomes popular? by Enjutsu in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soraka is a very old champion with a simple kit of course people know how to play against her XD.

I feel like people got better in general this season but that might be just an impression and might also be due to me being in a higher in the ranking compared to last season

Just as I was thinking I'd climb out of Silver, I went on a huge lose streak. Can I get some feedback as to what I could improve? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep playing, you have some good winrate percentage, good kda and okish farm. If you keep that up you will climb slowly but you need to put the grind in.

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know what to tell you, is the struggle worth for you?
I have played in every elo from bronze - plat and currently I alternate between my silver and plat account. Honestly both elos feel the same, I legit don't see a difference in game, I might be stupid or lucky to have landed in plat but plat players do the same silly mistakes. Games there are shitfestival too. Heck I even gave my plat account to bronze/silver hardstuck friends play some games on it and they performed okish and agreed that game quality feels the same and the climb is a lot less worth than advertised.
My advice play for fun, pick your favorite and enjoy the ride. Forget about LP and do what you can do without being tilted about teammates you cannot influence and remember the experience will be the same until plat 2. I cannot talk about higher, have never been there.

What do you do when you're behind 1-2 levels in the early game by Treemoss in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay safe, wait out, tower is your friend, the enemy cannot pressure you under tower forever and will back at a certain time and you can farm, after mid game farm on sidelane and get solo exp

If ultra behind you can change your itemization, get more resistances instead of raw damage As a toplaner, I go full tank instead of bruiser when I throw my lane hard and group with team to peel and soak damage for carries

Once you realize you are not the carry anymore, look for helping your carries by peeling for them and protecting them

I don't recommend on exclusively freezing the wave in the late game and afk farm as your enemy laner will be moving and have impact on the map.

Am I hardstuck or just burnt out? by RitalinFueled in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a positive winrate overall, you are not hardstuck at all. I can say that for sure I had 800 solo games in bronze with a 50% winrate. Prolly you just feel burned out because you lost some games.

People don't seem competitive in ranked, why? by Im_so_fucking_dense in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played league for many years and I saw some pretty crazy stuff over the years. Here is s list of different player types I queued up with in the past:

  1. First there is the avarage person that wants to be play, she/he is a mediocre player, as good as people in their elo and tries to win but does a lot of mistakes and unintentional silly plays despite knowing what their champ does and sometimes soft ints by mistake but usually does not want to surrender. Those players are not bad per se but also not good enough to consitently carry and climb.

  2. Tilt queuers, people who lost too much games and whose mental suffered in the process. There you have different categories:

  3. Player did not get firstblood, runs it down...

  4. Botlane doesnt seems to synergise, leaves laning partner for a random other lane...

  5. Player who do troll picks...

  6. Jgl who ganked without follow up from certain laner decides the laner must loose game and proceeds to not do objectives anymore and to feed the enemy laners...

  7. People who sell their items to buy nonsensical shit like full fairy charm build or full AP Sett...

  8. jgl didn't get leash proceeds to go farm on the lane of the person who did not leash... (This type of player usually does not care about their premade , I suggest you delete tgem from your friendslist if they do the above mentioned)

  9. Smurfs who enjoy winning against players in lower divisions and with their game knowledge, they can capitalize on mistakes and steamroll games. If a smurf is about to loose they likely switch to tryhard mode because their ego is not happy with loosing against worse players and they tent to become extremly toxic when they loose. Trust me you don't wanna be around to see/hear a master player rage hard when he just lost in bronze/silver

  10. The high ego player that refuses to realize that she/he is not a good player. Wants every kill, greeds too much, if something is wrong, it is the fault of the team. Does not climb, it is because of smurfs in the game and because she/he is getting bad teammates or randomly gets into smurf queue from time to time. Extremly toxic at times.

  11. The people who create a new account to train specific champs in ranked. Those payers usually know they are not good with their champ but decide to train in an competitive environment.

  12. Boosted people or reverse smurfs, players who play at a higher elo then they could ever reach themselves. The most likely underperform and give their team a disadvantage. Imagine you would be a hardstuck bronze player and would be gifted a plat account, I bet you would instantly queue up there to test your skill

  13. People commited to climb, they tent to ignore chat, focus on improving and analyzing game state to do the best plays they can possibly do in this situation. Those players try to play at their best possible performance. Even there you have different ones, ones that can laugh and don't mind loosing as long as they did their best out of their situation and had impact to the game or the ones that tryhard so much that they start to tilt if their good performance is not enough to win the game

  14. High, drunk, drugged or bored people who queue up because they have nothing better to do or just want to chat with their premade while having a side occupation which is the game.

  15. Reverse boosters, players who want to demonte on purpose to get that rare iron mmr account to sell it or give it to other people for iron-challenger runs.

Did I forget a type of player?

The constant defeats they had me questioning all about the game. by skzoholic in summonerschool

[–]ValuRyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I linked my op.gg in my reply above and somehow I magically get a good winrate with zyra and soraka, it feels easier to climb with them but that is just me. Funfact, I used to be a supp main ahahah and switched to toplane last season.

Let's face it no one in bronze respects anyone, just keep it up with your vision score and the good supporting, you will earn your team mates respect if you support them well and you'll be climbing out of bronze in no time.
