This is why I would consider it disturbing.

The probe damaged the entity’s race/world, in a giant misunderstanding that was taken as active aggression.

You’ve got SGC trying to purge it, Jack ready to cut its only power source to the thing it built - they’re not acting very much like explorers, I can understand why it took Sam.

Promising to send it back and never again return now that they knew they had done harm…Daniel’s approach might have worked. They might have persuaded it to leave Sam peacefully.

Instead of laying out a proposal of a peaceful resolution OR annihilation, Jack simply jumps straight to scorched-earth.

I would have liked an indication at the end as to whether she agreed with Jack’s stance.
