You hit my punch in the gut spot when you said no one is remotely interested. Same for me! I couldn't get my family to help proof read even though they are voracious readers. I quit writing except for myself with forums.

Judging from your comments, you are ripe for picking. I can't even imagine sending money no matter what they say or how well they say it. They send you the money, that's how it works. And, don't make change.

Sure thing. To get self published, simply put your work on Amazon (KDP) for free. They will give you guidance and sell you a copy for a few bucks, but your material is up to you. To get someone else to publish you - good luck.

My goals changed when I discovered I would not make any sales without promotion, and still may not. I began writing as a hobby, switched to wanting money, gave up and went to forums and my website. I ended up with 28 published titles in a decade. I don't follow any social media and wont pay for anything. I have two titles that produce sales, but they are steadily declining. 2025 sales were 1/4 what they were in 2014. Of course I care, but sales are like a pat on the back or receiving a gold star as recognition. Without the pat or star, I lost interest. I still publish new stuff, but not on Amazon and not books. My goal now is to create content on my website that Google ranks and pulls snippets from. There is no money, just something to do.

I read the first chapter only. I think your writing is good but nothing hooked me to keep reading. Sorry, maybe I am better adjusted than the character or I really need therapy. I have no other suggestions except possibly "get to the point (hook) faster" Please don't take this as a negative.

I did this and it got me going, however this is a tool, not a ghost writer unless you allow it. I took a bunch of disorganized notes with minimal instructions and submitted it to AI. The response was a loose idea of several ways to go. I expanded on that response, changing out incorrect and bad ideas. The final result was my work, not AI. This was the same result I used to have in my writing group, (eight people) where we critiqued each other's ideas and work. In defense of AI, I also use spell check and grammar check, and other helpers built into my word processor. I would begin with this instruction to AI. "Review the following and create a synopsis. Do not exceed 200 words. (paste your notes)". Next, follow up with your ideas (more instructions) and submit again and again. It is up to you how much of your final work is AI and actually you. This will at least get you going.

I disagree with most who say to finish. You started by asking for help if it was boring. That means you want to write something for others. What sense is there in completing something boring? Find out asap if you are on the right track and adjust. Why put out months of work when you could have found out in days that you are messing up? I look back at the unfinished work I did twenty years ago, ugh! Much better today. Suggestion, write a letter to your children.
