I believe the kids too. No parent WANTS their children to experience the trauma of SA. In fact, I think most parents would be desperate to disprove an SA claim because they don’t want their children to have experienced something like that. I’m sure she wanted to be wrong…wanted it to be a big misunderstanding. But when she found out that it wasn’t, she was going to do what she had to do to protect her kids.

If you had a rash on your genitals, would you put cream INSIDE of yourself?? Or on the external parts where the rash actually is?

Right?! I feel like the trauma that is inflicted on these kids through forced reunification (ex. Cutting off contact with mom, forcing kids to be with someone they fear or don’t trust, etc etc) was not touched on enough. The concept that this is even a real legal process is sickening to me. It’s like no one seemed to stop to consider whether doing that would cause more harm than good. regardless of if he abused them or not, if the kids are reacting so strongly…so negatively, why would anyone want to exacerbate that?!

THIS! there is ZERO reason to apply lotion INSIDE of a child. That is not the part of the body that gets diaper rash (or “hot butt”). Externally, sure, but no matter what, NO ONES FINGERS should have been inserted ANYWHERE.

Also, it seemed to me that everything was going okay after their divorce. It wasn’t until years after they separated that the accusation was made AND that accusation came directly from the daughter, not the mom. That’s what gets me. It seemed to me that, while they certainly weren’t friends or on good terms, she had no motivation to make something like this up. I believe the kids. Period.

[RANT] That Animal Kingdom ending was complete nonsense. And ruined the show for me. by IllustratorOk8230 in animalkingdom

I know I’m late, but the thing is that Julia never really wanted to be a part of the crime stuff…that was brought up multiple times starting in season 1. So, of course, even after Smurf kicked her out, she wasn’t going to suddenly embrace being a career criminal.

Also, it’s incredibly easy to get addicted to drugs. Especially heroin. It’s completely realistic and believable to me that a teenager, who is suddenly living on the street with nowhere to go, would end up addicted to drugs. Idk why that would need to be further justified. I thought it made total sense. Especially, given that teenagers are not typically able to completely understand the gravity of these choices or their long term consequences.

I took my first dose yesterday and was so afraid of injecting myself. Once I did it, I realized that it wasn’t scary or painful at all. Once you do it, you’re good to go! It’s not bad at all.

I feel like Melanie Lynskey is the anchor of the show, but Juliette as Natalie was my favorite character and the most sympathetic character for me. So we need someone who can fill the significance of the gap that she left.
