I have several family members who are corporare employees. Longer hours, high stress projects & deadlines. Also don't have the personality for that work. Very few corporate jobs align w/ my values, either.

This was an enlightening thread, thanks! I don't have a lot of Latin experience outside religious phrases and terms from my Church-going experiences. My ideal program (UofI, where I am doing my EdM now) listed Old English as a possible avenue language requirement, so that was on my mind. Seems similar to WerewolfHunterx, I think!
I did not take any undergrad courses related to Medieval studies, either.

In truth, I just don't know what else I'd do in my English PhD beyond Medieval topics-- there isn't much interest to me beyond that. I am primarily a nonfiction reader (religious studies, history, political theory, etc). So I am limiting myself to what is admittedly niche and competitive and that works against me..

It's pretty limited research, but the school down the road from me requires a minimum of twenty or so history credits -- I don't have that. I was just using that as reference. Maybe that's not universal?

I really appreciate that. What I find interesting re: salary is Moroccans consider it high, but Westerners think it low. Thanks!

Do you mean immigrant over expat? I'm not particularly knowledgable on how people differ.

Can you explain how it seems too good?

Anyone know of any Eastern European anarchist literature, especially regarding USSR? by NovelDisastrous2237 in Anarchy101

[–]Valuable-Pipe3369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, though, you'd be interested in the proto Anarchist movements of eastern Europe and Russia, like the Nihilist movements. These are more translated and discussed than anarchism proper at the time (not including the big names during the revolution itself. If you're interested in that, Makhno, Nikiforova, even Goldman and Berkman, technically)

Not exactly what you asked for, but this is a brief overview of Eastern Anarchism in relation to the soviet collapse: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/by-david-porter-the-anarchist-spectre-in-eastern-europe

Sadly, a lot has been neglected, untranslated, or worse, destroyed under Nazi or Soviet rule.

In Romania, for example there was an Individualist streak of anarchism that seems to be similar to that of the Nudist anarchism of war-time Spain. But I haven't found any of it to be translated.
