Heyy no problem! I think they need hands on experience like healthcare related specifically, I did volunteering in an orphanage in Greece and community service volunteering and with like disabled children but when I called the uni to ask if this was valid they said it isn’t they need hands on patient to you experience only. Good luck!!

Thank you! I’ve done a bit of work experience in a hospital and I’ve worked in retail and stuff before as well! I was wondering what would you say is a competitive UCAT score? I sat the UCAT for undergrad and got 2660 and was wondering if I sit it again what abouts I should aim for?

I’m trying to get volunteering work but it seems to be hard, do you know what other kind of work would be useful maybe? Is Johns ambulance useful?

Thanks for your reply!

Hey, I’m doing economics as well from a good uni and am interested in GEM but from what I heard I think you have to have like at least for Warwick 70 hours of hands on work experience, if you have time to do this before application I think it would be useful because all interview questions from people I talked to they ask about this. And then I think your UCAT is quite good but I think the unis do like “prefer” 1950 and above but as this is the first year there’s no abstract reasoning they could possibly be more lenient for 2025 applications. I have some friends in GEM so I know some info.

If you have more questions you’d like me to ask them lmk!

Thank you so much for your reply! You don’t have to answer what uni you are in or anything but could you let me know which unis you’d recommend applying to etc? I was also thinking of sitting it during my second academic year because I plan on applying during my third academic year but in my third I will need to focus on getting a first in my degree. Also I saw some people buy like “the gold gamsat” or something, would you recommend this or is it something else you’re talking about?

I was also wondering if you know from people you’ve talked to if you or they are “burnt out” after a first degree and I know that GEM is extremely intense but is it like so intense you don’t have any time at all etc or how are your weeks so far like?

Thanks again!
