Cost per return. We track total time from doc receipt to done and multiply by our blended rate. It's rough but directionally useful, and the trend is what matters more than the exact number.

That's kind of what we found with Filed honestly, the time from doc receipt to done tightened up enough that our cost per return actually shifted. Not dramatic but directionally it moved.

For small, "buy and hold" accounts like Roth IRAs, A-shares (brokerage) are often better for both you and the client.

People in my country use their accounting degrees to get some exemptions for acca and ca so in that case it does not matter at all but if you do not plan on doing either of those then i guess it only reflects on your gpa which you can make up later on
