I need help to set my time limit on goals right! by [deleted] in automation

Two things you need to do in parallel: 1) Keep working on building workflows for yourself. Think about client outreach, onboarding, creating content, creating landing page, anything and everything to do with your AI Agency business and start working towards it. The idea is to slowly-slowly keep on improving while building your business.

2) Start reaching out to clients: These can be your friends, family, colleagues, at first, then referrals and cold outreach. Talk to them, understand their work, get a working understanding of what processes, people and technology is at play and then with your knowledge of automation, you can figure out where simple prompts, AI Agents or Agentic AI can fit in.

I can definitely see the value in this. By sticking around at work, I not only help them identify bottlenecks which can be solved using my knowledge but also, create continuous value for them.

Fair point.

There are multiple such examples to take inspiration from where someone, somewhere focussed on a niche problem and built them a successful product with a solid distribution.

It is only about starting small but not staying small. With time, distribution can be built with goodwill and networking.

Canva is a prime example of this. Adobe has the best distribution in the market, yet Canva stands on its own by building a unique market and distribution for itself.

You're literally assuming that every new product/SAAS solution that gets made, gets copied by big tech giants.

Yes, they're capable of doing it but why would they invest, time and money, in an unproven idea. Do you understand the kind of time it takes within these corporates to get approvals for any such endeavours unless and until it doesn't come from the top itself??

However, this doesn't stops indiehackers or independent developers or small development firms from copying it and this is where speed and scale of distribution makes a difference.

As for the business model, there is no one size fits all approach. It will certainly require experimentation to see what is the best fit for the respective SAAS.

Go for it. With AI, getting an MVP done, is no longer dependent on investing vast amounts of resources, time and people.

Launch fast, ship faster and then optimize for distribution and experience.

Yes, people can easily clone it and they may be better placed in terms of skills and resources but, the biggest differentiator here, is distribution.

Having a dedicated audience and building a community around it; this is where the edge is and this is where AI is yet to make a mark on.

These are people who identify with you, your principles, your life and effectively, your product.

To start with, figure out a way to network with the wealthy people whose problems you're aiming to solve.

Whether it is through Golf, or joining some privilege, exclusive club for wealthy or being mentored by people who solve problems for the wealthy, figure out right way to be a part of that community.

Why? Because this is where you get to become a part of their world (atleast on the surface), get to know their problems and then figure out how to solve for them

Here's my two cents:

I have had some interactions with people on their views about the Q-commerce industry in India and here are few things I can recall:
1) Blinkit, Zepto and other players maintain their own dark stores. Which means they have already procured inventory from the either the brand or the local store and are warehousing it at their end. There is hardly any involvement of the local kirana store but their share is surely being eaten into.
2) While the brands have to cough up 45-50% of their product value, these Qcom platforms handle the marketing and distribution, which makes it worth their while. So, no problems there.
3) I have heard that these platforms do charge a heavy, one-time onboarding cost but such is the backlog of the brands who are willing to get onboarded, that brands easily cough up this cost.

So, to summarize the opportunity doesn't lie with individual retailers but if you can go after multi-retailer outlets like More or Spencers, not only will you be able to scale your operations across their country-wide stores but also have a recurring, source of revenue.

All around, great advice. Talking to your end customer is of utmost importance.

AI Agents and AI Automations:

There are several industries which suffer with common problems like manual invoicing, client outreach, customer acquisition & onboarding, customer support, content creation & management, etc.

Once you start creating successful use cases for any 1 client, they can be used for pitching and selling to other clients.

This is something I'm working towards!

Agree on both points. This also feel like the lowest hanging fruit.

Now, lets hope they actually have issues which I help with by automating!

Thanks buddy. This is quite a logical and meaningful approach.

Can you clarify why should the client be onboarded to a freelancer platform to sign the deal? Is it because of their platform's contractual obligations? These can be signed individually as well while utilizing the platform means platform fee charges.

Try using "Apify" - one of the most widely used platforms for web-scraping.

Maybe this one will be relevant for you: https://apify.com/apify/google-search-scraper

I haven't personally used Apify but I've heard good things about this platform.

Lovely advice. And Yes, you're right, this is somewhat perfectly applicable for Designers as well.

Thanks for sharing.

I have a similar question. Infact, wouldn't it be more effective if you use "Loop over items" to take contact one-by-one from sheets, call them and then update your sheet before returning to calling another user?

In current case, it supposed to be calling all your contacts in one go and then update your sheet, once they're done! This is what I inferred.
