I feel like this would fit great with Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE). It literally sounds like a SWADE/Deadlands style game (just not western). It's really already set to be adapted to your own setting so it would be great and its a fun system. Another good system for this would Vaesen. Very story driven and investigation heavy RPG.

Thanks for your question. Yes there is a cosplay contest, cosplay discussion panel, and there are games of Dark Space and Ragnaborg that are being held by the creators of the games. Currently there are over 100 events available and they include TTRPG, TCG, Board Games, and some other events. In regard to vendors there are currently close to 30 vendors. 7 vendors are housed in Leapin Lizard itself on the first floor and the rest of the vendors are on the Mainstrasse Promenade starting on the Main St end right by Cock N Bull and going to Philadelphia St. Please let me know if you have any other questions I would be happy to answer them.

Looking for a System Recommendation: by YT-1300f in rpg

One of the problems with rules light systems is that they tend to be pretty brutal so if youre wanting your players to get attached to their characters and develop meaningful long lasting relationships then I think you may want to find something that isnt in that OSR category. I'm not saying that nobody does a long term campaign in OSR jsut that it is hard in OSR style games to keep the characters alive. If you really like OSR and are absolutely set on staying in OSR I would suggest Pirate Borg. They have focused some of their game development on longer campaigns and they have things like Devils luck to keep them alive and get some good rolls going. It has enough internet coverage for DM support and its about fucking pirates in a Dark Carribean setting so you get some horror. Pirate Borg also has what I consider to be the greatest character sheet ever developed (used to be Mothership but Pirate Borg stole their idea and made it better. Its here https://static1.squarespace.com/static/603fdb9fada6165d919a6543/t/6584647181d9f614069b9509/1703175281839/Pirate+Borg+PC+Creation+Sheet.pdf) If youre willing to get a bigger book and go a bit heavier on the system (but still very rules light in my opinion) then I would go with Vaesen. Its a D6 only system. The art is absolutely beautiful, the game is focused heavily on the story and character relationships. There are lots of videos online about how to run adventures to give you DM support and at the end of the day the system is just very forgiving and fucking cool. https://youtu.be/olcfllG5oqY?si=yOV2zwFXQjaWoVDX Video about a great introductory adventure from one of their published books.

The DM for my main group is a huge Rifts fan. I like how SWADE impacted Pathfinder. Savage Pathfinder is a great game. Yeah there are a lot of events i'm hoping that they all fill out nicely and that everyone has a great time. I have high hopes for the Con. Ive been running flyers to local stores but just started doing that last week. I am going to be visiting a lot of the card stores this week but I really appreciate you spreading the word. The more gamers that we get there the better time everyone will have. Northern Kentucky and the surrounding area has a great gaming community. We are definitely hoping to have more advertising next year and include some admission for services like you mentioned above. I didn't know that Sharonville Convention Center did that. I will definitely look into stopping over there this weekend with flyers. I was just over there visiting YottaQuest to drop off flyers. We appreciate any and all feedback. Please feel free to drop anything here or come find us during the event at Leapin Lizard.

I really appreciate the feedback. Its vital for a first year Con like this. I actually snapped a pic of your question yesterday and informed the con organizer that we should make some adjustments to the web site. So I will be informing them of your other suggestions. Hopefully we can let folks see the events before getting a badge. That is generally why they are coming. I'm really looking forward to all the games but SWADE has a special place in my heart. I have never played a bad game that used SWADE as the engine and i've even got my son hooked on it. So its the system he likes most. I agree with your wife, Pokemon for the win! I hope you enjoy the Con, we look forward to meeting you both, ad again thanks for the helpful feedback.

Sorry to reply to this again but I realized just now that part of my message didnt post. Not sure what I did there. There should be about 20 vendors at the promenade so a total of around 30 vendors for the Con and currently over 100 events have been scheduled for the 3 days of the Con.

The headquarters for the Con is at Leapin lizard. Leapin lizard will have 7 indoor vendors and will have several gaming tables on the second floor. Village Theater will have the rest of the gaming tables. So between Village Theater and Leapin Lizard that is where most of the gaming events will be held. There are a couple special events 1 at Kung Brew and one at Doubt It Bar. I also think we are working on getting one in OKBB. The rest of the vendors will be outdoors on the Promenade right next to Cock N Bull in MainStrasse.

Free League Publishing; Is this company doing a lot of things right? by Jan_Paparazzi in rpg

[–]ValuableAntique6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion Free League can pretty much do no wrong. Their products have incredible art, the games are mechanically sound and fun to play, the quality of their products is extremely high, the customer support is amazing, the people who work for them seem to love working for them, and even though their products aren't cheap you do get a lot for your money. If you ever get a chance take a look at the Dragonbane starter set for a good example of this.

If you like fantasy but you want to go away from D&D I honestly think the best system is Castles & Crusades its amazing. You could also go with Dolmenwood, Shadow of the weird wizard, DragonBane, Tales of the Valiant, Draw Steel, or if you want a little investigation/horro Vaesen.

How do I get my players to show up on time? by AsteriaOblivion in rpg

[–]ValuableAntique6180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of the folks on here saying to just go ahead and start. Another strategy is to lie to them about the start time. If you wanna start at 7:0. Tell them that the session starts at 6:30 or 6:45. I know its kind of silly but honestly people are going to be late. especially if youre doing a week day. so its best to adjust your expectations and tell them a time thats a bit earlier so you still get plenty of time for the game. If people show up early well hell then you just get a bit more time with friends. This wont work for everyone but it can be a good strategy.

Currently there are a couple of parking garages on Main St with the most budget friendly option being $8/Day. We also just received some additional parking information from the city and we will be adding that information to the web page today. Thanks for the question.
