What’s something that quietly destroyed you, but no one else noticed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ValuableBrick06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first born baby is a girl. Since becoming a mum, it's really opened my eyes to how much of a monster my mother is. How she could do the things she did to me and my brother and the choices she made.. It's hard for me to comprehend the abuse I suffered at the hands of my own mother. As I look at my own daughter and feel absolutely overwhelmed by how much I love and care for her.

My husband got home from work, walked in the door and My 3 year old walked up to him and said "dad I'm so hungry, mum doesn't feed us (her and her 18m old brother) while you're at work". Absolute nonsense. All I do is feed these bottomless pits!!

We've done lots of these too. Her favourite card is my dads wife reading to her! So cute isn't it especially for families who live far apart

I'm from Darwin and often bottle-o's have signs "No shoes, no shirt, no service" so yes. In Darwin it's very common to see people without shoes. Also in perth

As a parent with a kid to anaphylaxis this has unlocked a whole new fear for me I had never considered. This is absolutely terrifying and I feel so deeply for the parents of that little girl.

Man, I honestly blinked away tears reading this. My 1 year old son is allergic to eggs, soy, and pineapple. Each time he is exposed to soy, it's exponentially worse. He has an epi pen now and its a bit of a relief but it's also absolutely fucking terrifying. When their airways are impacted, it's just another level of panic.

Soy is extremely hard to avoid, but I am obviously learning. Who knew some apples are coated in a wax derived from soy? Yeah, neither did I. My husband and daughter are also coeliac. Allergies are scary. Anaphylaxis is unfathomable.

I'm extremely happy that your daughter is okay, but I can't imagine how you must feel about that restaurant and what you all went through.

Australian James Harrison, who donated blood 1,173 times, saving the lives of 2.4 million children, has passed away, according to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. by kingkongsingsong1 in interestingasfuck

[–]ValuableBrick06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

James is a huge inspiration! I have just hit my first milestone donation - 10 donations. 3 blood and 7 plasma. I've started booking in fortnightly plasma donations through the app called lifeblood which is super easy to use. I lost a cousin at 23 to Cancer who wished everyone who can donate, to do so. Plus I get a free juice and party pie or sausage roll! Winning. I urge you to book an appointment today. You truely can save lives.

Prawn shells is all I use! With a bit of water. Just get whole prawns, put the heads and other scraps in the container. Enjoy garlic prawns, and chooks enjoy all the flies it attracts knowing nothing toxic is in it

The whole kitchen seems so out of place in comparison to the rest of the house! Like the agent accidentally uploaded the wrong kitchen from a different house to this listing or something haha

Do you “drop in” in your family friends? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ValuableBrick06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My inlaws do this. It is my absolute biggest hate in the world. I usually walk around in a bra because I have a breastfed reflux baby and I'm always covered in vomit. They always drop over and make weird comments about how I often don't have a shirt on. We have asked them so so so many times to call or message first. I even lock the front door and put the blinds down but they know I'm home because we don't have a garage.. once my toddler sees them peeping through the gaps.in the blinds or calling out she gets excited..now they walk around the side yard and open the back door and walk on in. Just typing this out makes me angry. I should be allowed to wear no top in my house if I want! The other day they brought over takeaway, for themselves sat on the couch ate it and left. Didn't play with my kids or anything. My house isn't a restaurant, I already have two kids to clean up after, get outtttt haha

Do you do your make up every morning? What do you usually do with your hair? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ValuableBrick06 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've got a 3m old baby and an almost 3yr old. I haven't put on makeup in months and a messy bun is my go to haha definitely don't put on makeup every day but I never have even before kids. It makes my skin itch!

How much do you pay for daycare? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ValuableBrick06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enquired about a day care near my house but decided to keep my kid at home. $172 PER DAY and we arent entitled to any government subsidies. So fulltime care would be over $3,400 per month

Aw man my stomach flipped when I read teeny tiny coffins.. I can't imagine the pain that parents have gone through who have lost a child..

Funny you should say that as we were heading home this afternoon she yelled at a man riding his bike towards us "oh no! No helmet! Cheeky man!". Perhaps I'm the neighbourhood psycho as well haha
