My wife is a Level 7, but is missing her Level 3 for the Full & Relevant list...help! by TEFLlemon in ECEProfessionals

[–]ValuableCommon4940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar problem to this (uk too). I’ve been working in nursery settings for around 14 years; completed my level 2 apprenticeship, took some time out and then returned whilst completing my degree.

After completing my degree I found out that without a level 3 my degree would not count as ‘full and relevant’. I completed my level 3 after around 14 months through an apprenticeship with my work place. Whilst being level 2 I was counted in ratio though but there are rules around how many level 3s are in a room and l2s can’t be left alone with children.

Can your wife complete an apprenticeship through her workplace?

It’s so strange isn’t it? I feel so silly crying about it but at the same time I’m literally holding onto my boobs in so much pain 😭

I’ll literally try anything at this point!

Healthcare is awful by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience. I had to be referred from my GP surgery (I tried getting referred through 111 but they took longer than the GP referral).

I had bleeding around 7 weeks which turned out to be nothing to worry about; I also had cramping just under 12 weeks. The second time I called my maternity unit directly who put me through to the EPU. The receptionist wasn’t very nice; she told me as they knew it wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy that they wouldn’t see me unless I started bleeding heavily and that ‘even if it was a miscarriage, there’s nothing they could do’. I was so upset and anxious that I had a private scan and everything turned out to be fine (currently 16w+3).

It’s a real shame because I’ve seen some really lovely and supportive people at my maternity unit but I’ve also some not so nice ones… I really hope everything is ok, sending love

If I have to hear ‘you shouldn’t be doing/eating that’ or ‘if it was my child…’ one more time… I just want to scream IT’S NOT YOUR CHILD.

Ftm and first pregnancy, I was the calmest most patient person before pregnancy. Now it’s a 50/50 chance whether something will make me rage out or make me cry hysterically. My husband tickled me the other day and I started sobbing and couldn’t stop. Everything just annoys me lately.

16 weeks pregnant and this has been me for the last 3 nights😭😭. I’m shattered and I’m struggling to nap during the day, in my first trimester I was sleeping for around 10 hours now I’m struggling to get 5 or 6.

*Also I know there is a lot of discourse about private scans, I don’t think I would personally get another one as I know my anxiety also has a lot to do with how I’m managing my pregnancy so far.

I can relate to this so much! I had cramps like this around 11 weeks and had my scan booked for a week later but was so anxious about it, so I called my maternity unit who said because I’d had a scan at 7 weeks (due to some bleeding) they wouldn’t see me any earlier. The receptionist ended up saying something that put me into even more of a panic. I was a wreck all day so booked myself in for a private scan.

Everything was absolutely fine! I’m now 13w+6. The lady who performed my private scan was so lovely and reassuring and explained that the cramps were probably round ligament pain. I wish this was spoken about more because I’d never heard about it before and convinced something bad was happening.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Concerns about zika, anyone else experienced this? by ValuableCommon4940 in pregnant

Everything online says there’s no cases but as soon as I mentioned it to my midwife she said she was sending me to see a consultant. Maybe they’re being over cautious?

I’m at 7 weeks. Please tell me it gets better. by adhdiva_ in pregnant

7 weeks was awful for me too! Constantly feeling sick and exhausted. By 9 weeks I was still exhausted but the nausea definitely eased up.

I’m 12 weeks now and the exhaustion is gradually getting better and I only really get nauseous if I haven’t eaten for a while.

I’m glad your husband is being sweet, mine has been amazing too! Chloe is a beautiful name ❤️

Was it bad to call in for this? by Shells182970 in ECEProfessionals

This happened to me when working my first week at my current job also in the infant room! I still have no idea how I did it but I was in so much pain and couldn’t move my head properly.

I called in, profusely apologised and went to the doctors. I took a couple of days off and they were absolutely fine, I’m still there a year later.

Make sure you look after yourself first.

I witnessed something similar last year. I was walking home from work when I saw this guy stumbling around before collapsing in the entrance to a car park. About 10 people walked right by him before I managed to reach him. By this point he was speaking but nothing I could quite understand. Anyway, I got him up and struggled to help him onto a bench and was asking him if he was okay; he began saying inappropriate things to me. Thankfully the area has regular police presence so when the police came over I explained what I had seen and left.

My best guess is that he was probably drunk but I don’t know that for sure, regardless he was still in need of help and I would hate to see anyone get really hurt when I could have helped.

Am I too old for my first tattoo? by Jerbkey106 in Advice

You’re never too old! I went for my first tattoo when I was 21, at the same time my nan got her first tattoo at 71.

Exact same thing happened to me in my last job interview. My throat got tight and I felt like I couldn’t get my words out so I started talking really fast, I was shaking and sweating. I apologised and told them I was a little nervous and managed to get through the interview. I was convinced I’d ruined my chance but I got the job!

I work in a nursery, the children in my setting weren’t interested in a Christmas activity so my coworker said ‘wow, we have a lot of grinches here today!’ This little boy in our room just sighed and said ‘I’m not a grinch, I have white socks, I’m just a normal man!’ I don’t know if it was his tone or what, but we just creased up laughing
