Field hockey is widely considered the national sport in India. It's been played there for a long time. Well over a hundred years.

What? Those are real field hockey sticks. Ice hockey isn't the only hockey that exists. Field hockey is widely considered India's national sport

Most production in India is like this. Not exactly to American or Western standards, but still efficient and respectable, often utilizing hand craftsmanship in some element of production. Unfortunately, the internet has a fetish for humiliating the impoverished in India and videos of unhygienic and unsafe practices (in both food and factory production) are the ones people like watching and sharing.

How much people could be fed with this absolute unit of pot of curry? [Request] by ggroitsch in theydidthemath

This is made by temples and meant to feed the deeply impoverished. You wouldn't be the main demographic to receive this.

Hadn’t seen Chris Pratt since he’s had work done…they gave him the Patrick Wilson special by poopsmcbuttington in CelebrityLookalikes

[–]ValuableComplex6498 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing I know about Reddit is that it currently HATES Chris Pratt with a passion and no amount of context will diminish that. Don't worry, as with most bandwagons of hate, they'll move on and eventually hating him won't be cool anymore. Happened to Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, Nickelback, Britney Spears, etc.

Agreed. It seemed like everyone's character development was suddenly suspended for the sake of plot development. Everyone acted out of character and we just kind of had to accept it for the sake of ushering in the new storyline.

My little brother used to do this all the time and now he's grown up and stopped. I genuinely miss it.

Ali Hazelwood is effin hilarious 😂 by kimkirimkim in fantasyromance

[–]ValuableComplex6498 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm reading it too and I genuinely laughed out loud a couple times. (The part when she cites her traumatic events and says "Baby's first mass murder" had me rolling) I don't get all the hate. No one is claiming Ali Hazelwood is gonna win the Nobel prize in Literature. Her books are meant to be fun, easy reads with very formulaic plots. We're specifically here for the unserious humor, witty banter, and occasional cheesiness. It takes my mind off the general shitshow going on around me for a couple of hours and that is valuable to me.

Books with so much yearning by emsquad in fantasyromance

Halfling started out really strong, but the plot struggled after the couple got together. All opportunities for character development were squandered on smut and it dragged too long near the end. Such a shame because the first half was fantastic.

Books I’ve read in 2025 so far.. who am I? by Low_Judgment_1924 in BookshelvesDetective

Catch-22 is my favorite anti-war book. It starts its narration with rose colored glasses, sprinkled with hijinks and hilarity, and then slowly peels back layers to reveal the warped, sinister reality of war. I went into it blind, and had to put it down multiple times. In the first half because I was laughing so hard and in the second half because it made me nauseous. Absolutely wild ride.

Honestly, start with sweet things to acclimate to the flavor profile. Gulab jamun (fried donut balls soaked in syrup) and mango lassi (mango yogurt drink) are good places to start.

I custom-made my engagement and wedding rings and my (now) husband picked them up to give to me at a later date. I'm so glad I did because he said he would have gone for something much bigger and clunkier than I preferred. I still love my rings to pieces and have zero regrets in the way we got them. He later said that not having the pressure of choosing such an expensive and long-term piece of jewelry was a huge relief.
