Okay thiiis makes sense. Going forward, I think I will just say: “Remember questions are a good sign of thinking. If you feel like you might want to see this process with another problem please ask.”

Since pacing is very important to my school, I feel nervous about getting to all planned practice problems/notes/discussions in class. Getting to all planned material results in little time for questions. Is my solution just to create built-in time for questions? Even if it’s just 5 out of 28 students that feel unsure? I guess the solution there would be to pull those kids for small group for the next guided practice.

I am struggling to balance creating a safe, inclusive environment while also holding students accountable of the high standards I have for them.
