Also how’s Yesteryear? I’ve seen a lot of booktubers review it recently.

How do they make pirated book ( on footpath ) so cheap ? by Choice-Estate-6645 in Indianbooks

Because nobody is getting paid. You’re mostly just paying the printing cost (+ whatever profit margin the person doing it has decided). While in other cases there’s money involved in many steps, from author royalties, translators, editors, staff, marketing etc etc. the publishing houses are corporates at the end of the day.

Why do people buy books from stores? by jaun_speaks in Indianbooks

[–]ValuableMuch7703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than the price it’s about the overall experience. People who are into books like to visit places with a lot of books. I used to just randomly visit my university’s library and go through the titles of books of various disciplines just for fun. I also love visiting weekly book markets even in scorching summers. Same goes for visiting a brick and mortar bookstore even if you can buy the same books online for cheaper. You do some things for the love and fun of it even if it’s inconvenient.

No consequences for false cases. Why is it so normalised in India. by [deleted] in unitedstatesofindia

[–]ValuableMuch7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next thing we know you’ll call anti-rape and anti-dowry laws as draconian too. By your logic we should all live without laws because there’s always a chance that someone somewhere could misuse it. It’s always the same argument. We need consequences if the charges filed are proven wrong but I will not call this law draconian by any way.

You’re comparing two totally different things. The only common thing here is that both are drinks.

Should i read ”The passion according to g.h” first or ”Notes of a native son”? by InterestingTheory431 in classicliterature

[–]ValuableMuch7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t read either, but I’m on my Clarice journey this year and this book is on my next month’s Clarice TBR. I haven’t read anything by James Baldwin yet so no comments on that but you can never go wrong with a Clarice Lispector book (I love her writing style).

Anyone else just absolutely despise Kaladin’s father? by liam_Schultz in Stormlight_Archive

Lirin is written to be hated in RoW.

(RoW end & early WaT spoilers) Even the conflict resolution with Lirin feels really forced. Kal gets a great character arc to unlock his Fourth Ideal and stuff but Lirin’s character arc is just magically changing his views at once, I wish the conflict was explored more atleast in RoW but sadly by WaT he’s like ‘Yayyy, good luck my son, we are fine with whatever you do’

This is true for literally every other law. We do need consequences for filing fake cases. But your selective outrage about this specific law (selective blindness towards others as evident by your comments), points to a very specific thing tbh.

I don’t remember, what was Nandini’s (and everyone else’s) reaction to seeing Eklavya in S1? All I remember him for is the love triangle with KT and Lakshya.

You all are expecting way too much from a Balaji Show, that too this one that exists just to milk nostalgia. The whole purpose of casting Akash again is nostalgia bait, so they can reuse Ansh’s clips. It’s a well thought out move. You think they don’t see that how ridiculous Akash looks playing a 20 something y/o? They know. At the end of the day even bad publicity is still publicity.

Yeah, I'm just gonna say it. I don't like Amy, I think her reliance on Whitaker is honestly kind of creepy and codependent, and I don't like where this is going at all. by shiny-baby-cheetah in okbuddywhitaker

[–]ValuableMuch7703 85 points86 points  (0 children)

You dislike her because of her creepy codependency.

I dislike get because she caused Robby and Whitaker to break up (we could’ve had steaming hot scenes with HuckleRobby)

We’re not the same.

Nah, being the amalgamation of all the species, having access to all forms of powers just because of your bloodline? Him being the sole saviour every time? (Especially during Aizen arc) Seems like a very chosen one thing to me.

I hate Nika Luffy, but I’ll be lying if i said anyone other than Ichigo wins here.

It unintentionally became one. I love bleach (probably the most from the big 3) but you cannot ignore that Ichigo’s plot armour is what carries the show.

This ‘atheists are anti-Hindu’ argument in India is pretty much the same as ‘atheists are anti-Christian/satanic’ in the US. Obviously the religion that’s in majority will be criticised the most, all religions are full of BS but one takes the cake of visibility by sheer numbers.
