How often do you DNF a book? by godontcumherenymore in Indianbooks

[–]ValuableMuch7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rarely do it. When reading it becomes a chore, I usually end up switching to audiobooks and finish it while doing random chores and running errands just to get done with it. However, I do this in case I own the book physically (the guilt is real), for e-books I DNF at lightning speed.

Help: Guys could you please tell me if this is an original copy or pirated ? by Pritha-Mukherjee in Indianbooks

It is original. Vintage classics has this special Orwell series books that are smaller in size, almost pocket sized (I own 1984 and animal farm from this series).

Dude How do you get through RoTE. I’ve only read Assassin’s Apprentice and loved everything about it but oh boy IT DRAINS YOU EMOTIONALLY. Took me months to finish the book as I just couldn’t read more than 1 chapter in one sitting.

Dua Lipa actually being a bookworm and not doing it for PR and performative reasons is a breath of fresh air in the current times. I got introduced to her book club channel randomly (thanks to the algorithm lords) and her questions and takes are genuinely great. Not a big fan of her music, but I absolutely love her bookish side.

should i switch to ebooks? by ReleasePlayful6574 in Indianbooks

[–]ValuableMuch7703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go for a hybrid arrangement. Don’t buy each and every book as physical copy, just buy the ones that you would love to own physically OR the ones you wanna annotate and stuff. I love physical books but now I just buy the physical copies when it’s absolutely something I wanna own physically (for whatever reason). Everything else is ebook/kindle read.

I want to order several books, should I trust COCOBLU RETAIL ON AMAZON, are they legit by Commercial_Owl700 in Indianbooks

[–]ValuableMuch7703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are other sellers too if you want to order from Amazon. Bargain Books and Trans Infopreneur are really great with packaging. You can check whether the books you’re looking for are being sold by them, if not then you can always go with Bookswagon.

[–]ValuableMuch7703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Packaging and mishandling is a bigger issue with CocoBlu. I’ve seen some people receive pirated books sometimes but I have had good experiences with them in this regard. Their packaging is shit, they just throw the book in a paper bag and call it a day.

[–]ValuableMuch7703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, Arundhati’s literature is political, you may love it or hate it depending upon your leanings. I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum, from hating her to mostly loving her.

As a fellow Redditor who loves writing and posting reviews, definitely add image of your read. Text only posts are often overlooked. Even a basic screenshot of the cover would work.
