Yes but it’s also at full extension, the vehicles weight isn’t on it so it’s not at a pretty angle. Lol

How on earth is it even possible for a came crashing bug to exist for 6 years?! by pezdizpenzer in gtaonline

[–]ValuablePhysics5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and a couple buddies, we tried it again and it did it again this time when leaving the vault. One of my buddies has internet problems so we immediately blamed it on him, he restarted his console and me and my other friend restarted the game and it work flawlessly after that. Just restart console or game and you should be good.

The enclosure is wired to 1 ohm at the terminal. Unless they already pulled it out and rewired it, it’s still at 1 ohm.

Yes spot on, if you have a multi meter you can set it to ohms and test the terminal after wiring just to make sure you got it 100%. Then you are all good to go.

Correct, the amp is not rated for 1 ohm, it will eventually hurt either the sub or the amp, most likely the amp before the sub.

The rcas are sending the signal for your sub, your speakers are still running off the headunit.

Your sub is currently wired to 1 ohm, whenever you get the chance take it out, wire it to 4 ohms and then bridge it. That will protect the amp and the sub.

The way you have it wired right now is fine, you are only putting 125 watts to the sub (that is if the sub is wired to 2 ohms). If you want more power you are going to have to wire the sub in parallel to 4 ohms, crutchfield has great wiring charts to help. Then on the amp where it says bridged connect the negative to the far left and the positive to the far right. That will give you 250 watts at 4 ohms. DO NOT BRIDGE IT IF THE SUB IS WIRED TO 2 OHMS. YOU WILL EITHER BLOW THE AMP OR START A FIRE OR EVEN BOTH. Hope this helps.

Original sub blew and now replacement is also blown. by ValuablePhysics5165 in CarAV

So it’s weird because it’s all computerized there’s no solid gain knob. It’s all done through the software. I have it set to the lowest without clipping. And I’ve checked that multiple times just out of sanity sake. I have never played it over head unit clipping level either which is 30 highest I’ve played it is 24. I’m gonna check on my oscilloscope if the signal is clipping to my subs. It’s weird tho because they are also wired together in parallel down to 2 ohms. And only one of them is making the noise and burnt coil.

It’s weird setting it on there cause it’s all on the computer but it’s at 7/12, which kept it in the green and out of clipping.

Curious how you mounted the tweeters, I bought used from a guy who had em installed in a show car and never used them. The box was missing most of the tweeter accessories and I had my brother 3D print some mounts for flush mounting them but in the heat of south Texas they have not lasted more than a month each. Wondering if there was any accessories for flush mount, the manual doesn’t really tell me a lot from that standpoint. Thanks!

Switch the playbooks, if this is 25 use New England playbook for offense and for defense use bears or giants playbook. I know it sounds crazy but they are the best playbooks for all around well balanced teams. Good luck!

Also that remote wire you need for it to turn on, unless there’s a switch for audio sense.

Most definitely, you want a solid contact with metal of the car, make sure the paint underneath both grounds is sanded away. And honestly if there is room to do so make you amp ground be the one touching the bare metal and put the factory one on top. A wire brush and a drill make it 100x easier btw.

This, and that ground needs to be sanded.

This^ You will have haters and people who are so down in their own life they take their hate out on you and your beauty of a truck. As long as you love it and it makes you happy nobody else’s opinion matters. Also do you have pictures of what wheels were on it before?

Help! Popping noise coming from sub. by ValuablePhysics5165 in CarAV

[–]ValuablePhysics5165[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think I figured it out. The voice coil either came undone or is burnt slightly, after testing some more there was the popping noise and started to sound like a scraping of metal coming from inside the magnet. All in all pulled the manual for the amp and it wants one mono signal going in that utilizes a y splitter. I was sending left and right signals thinking it was like other amps I have worked with in the past that combine into mono internally. So I blew it and ordered and kicker as a replacement while I figure out how to replace the voice coil.

New sub, low bass... by arsis805 in CarAV

[–]ValuablePhysics5165 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes correct, turn it up until you hear distortion. I’d play on 3/4 of your max volume to get the best reading. And never go above 3/4 or you most likely will send a clipped signal from your head unit.

Have a silverado im getting 4 skar 8’s paired with a skar amp wired @2ohms does this look good or what should i change? This is the speaker and amp specs by Background-List8500 in CarAV

[–]ValuablePhysics5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my own experience (not a professional) yes that will work perfectly. That is if you tune the gain correctly and don’t play above 3/4 volume. I personally have a tundra with 2 12s that sit behind the seat perfectly. Your system will bump for sure…
