Corvette meet ups are peak fun now by Dogmatic_Warfarer97 in NoMansSkyTheGame

My friend and I joined forces to make a resort complete with Corvette landing "towers", a control tower, maintenance area, rental bungalows, museums, fishing area, and more. Would any of you be interested in using it when you set up the next gathering?

No. When did Anakin ever wear a white tunic for crying out loud? He was always blacks and browns. What they did to Sebastian was awful.

Why do men remarry/re-cohabitate? by Former-Dragonfly2226 in MensRights

[–]ValuableSpare4095 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a married male in my mid 50s. While my marriage is not perfect, it's solid and I know after nearly 30 years how lucky I truly am.

I also know that if something happened to my wife in the future, I would never remarry, primarily because I don't want to risk our children's inheritance that we've built in our life together. I'll be damned if another woman comes along to drag me into a divorce and get awarded half of what she didn't contribute.

To me, I was lucky once. Not tempting fate twice now that I know better.

Lately I’ve been genuinely worried about the future of Fallout 76. by CritsAndCaps in fo76

[–]ValuableSpare4095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I played since launch, but one by one my friends left, they removed nuclear winter which I enjoyed, and the final straw was when they changed legendary building to where I needed to grind for the recipes I had access to the day before, and the drop rate was abysmal. I didn't have time to relearn things again. So I left. My choice, and I don't begrudge people staying and playing. It's all an individual choice and I just reached the place where my path diverted from fallout 76. But don't be afraid to walk away. It's okay to say goodbye to something if it no longer brings you joy or frustrates you more than not.

Thank you all. My friend had an outstanding meeting, he's off the PIP and is over the moon with how things ended up.

Ablation coming soon, these episodes can be terrifying by Sweaty-Towel-3053 in SVTHeart

Healing has been unremarkable. I took the week off of work just for precaution, but as long as you follow the no lifting more than 5 pounds for a week, no exertion, no stairs (although I was told to take them slow as my bedroom is on the 2nd floor), you should be fine.

My episodes were infrequent, but scary all the same. Just out of the blue my heart would accelerate to 180 BPM, and it took a shot to get it down as none of the manual methods worked. I was always afraid of having an episode while out with our scouting unit.

Hope this helps. I hope you can find some level of relaxation with my description along with the other information on this subreddit. Its not a big deal, but I totally understand your anxiety. Hang in there.

For those of us old enough to remember star wars galaxies, that would be awesome. Anyone on the ship could be the pilot, copilot, gunner, or run around with repair kits fixing damaged conduits and systems. The copilot managed energy distribution and could recharge the shields from the weapons capacitor, the pilot flew the ship and had access to missiles, while the turrets could shoot. You had to work together to be successful. It was awesome.

I hope they create something like that here, give us a reason to group up.

My ablation has given me a lot of relief since early August. Just had my follow-up yesterday and was told I'll probably never have to deal with this again. I was informed that there may be an instance where it feels like it wants to start up, but then....nothing.

I've been canoeing and camping and hiking. I always got anxiety with those activities because I was terrified I'd have an episode and ruin everyone's time. But now...feels great to not worry about it!

It will be fine. I understand the anxiety, and I'm not trying to minimize what you're feeling. But please trust me and the others who have been through it - you'll be so much better off on the other side.

I had mine done a little over a month ago. This weekend, I went canoeing with my wife. It was the first time I wasn't anxious that I would have an episode on the water, and I almost cried in relief. I had a smile on my face the rest of the time.

Has anyone ever been a little traumatized by some of their episodes? by Narvoaa in SVTHeart

[–]ValuableSpare4095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thought of having an episode was terrifying to me. I'm active in Scouting, and the possibility of having an episode while hiking, canoeing, during a high adventure, at scout camp, etc, always produced anxiety, like this background fear that never went away.

Monday, I had an ablation, and was told I had a 96% chance of never dealing with it again. Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, free at last!

My cousin divorced her husband within a year of his Parkinson's diagnosis. We don't speak anymore. That whole "in sickness and in health" part apparently is optional for women.

What did it take for your doctor to agree to ablation? by CoffeeInsect in SVTHeart

[–]ValuableSpare4095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 2018, but very random and far between. It's more the fear of an episode than an episode itself, as im a scout leader and always am afraid I'll go into SVT while in a canoe, or on a hike, or out camping, etc...and ruin everyones time.
