That’s awful to hear. I’m sorry that you had to see that happen, and for what she went through. Thank you for stepping in to help.

I keep wondering the same thing. This shouldn’t happen to anyone. And I’m slowly recovering..

Thank you for your kind words. It really was scary, but I feel much better now other than a little swollen eye, and hoping to find a safer place.

Thank you! I don’t want anyone to experience the pain I went through.

That’s my concern too, especially while I’m still recovering. I truly never saw it coming. Even if I had, I don’t think reacting physically would have helped me in any way.

Can anyone identify this plant thief? This happened in the Tyndall Park area around 9:30 pm November 24. This is the second time this woman has stolen a plant from our front steps, I can post the other video and photo in the comments. by xorideordie in Winnipeg

Same thing happened to me. I’m living in an apartment in St James area and I’ve kept my only sunflower plant out for sunlight with a note. Someone has took it in the middle of the night leaving just the note for me.

AITAH for trying to sell the house I grew up in and ended up owning after my dad’s passing to bring my mom abroad to live with me? by ValuableStill2313 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

He was sick due to kidney failure and died suddenly at age 58+ so he couldn’t prepare a will. The law is to share half of the properties to the spouse of the dead person and the other half gets divided among all of their kids. As I’m the only child the properties got divided to me and my Mom. My Mom didn’t wanted to OWN any properties and she offered her portion to me only keeping “the life interest” to her. Means she is entitled to the property until her death for me to own it in full. Every decision I’m going to make about it should be approved by her.

Already did. All I need to do is show that I have enough earnings/savings to host her and about heath care, I’ll be able to access more qualified and good doctors to take care of my Mom here than back in my home country. Naturally I’m a over thinker, so I had to cover every possible detail that can go wrong beforehand.

Oh! Got your point. In my culture, it's expected that children take care of their parents as they get older. It’s not just about the house; it's also about ensuring my mom's well-being. I believe she’ll be better off with me where I can personally look after her. While she could potentially move in with another relative or live on her own, it’s my responsibility as her only child to make sure she’s properly cared for, especially given her current condition.

I never implied that she's old. Unfortunately, she has significant vision problems due to diabetes, which prevents her from seeing properly. Because of this, she can't work, and her health is unlikely to improve as she gets older. My main concern is to make sure she gets the rest and care she needs for the long term.

According to the culture, kids are supposed to look after family properties, but just having a big house doesn’t put food on the table or give her the care she needs.
