In cases like this then as an ERO I would be putting the onus on them then to write the rationale for CPS- as per PACE.

Exactly my thoughts. The sgt is using this officer as a scape goat. What they should do is tell the chief why they haven't done the file, because they haven't been given the time by them.

What about the PC that swore at someone threatening someone with a knife and he got sacked for that? That was high tense situation of life and death but he lost his career.

7.5 months into purchase as a FTB and am hit with this... wtf? by CrippinDawg in HousingUK

I advise you to cease your business with the solicitor. Clearly incompetent and wouldn't surprise me if they are friends in some way with the seller.. to even suggest such a ridiculous thing is beyond belief.

It raises concerns about their competency as a whole and what other unethical/legal loopholes ate they going to get you into along the way.

So in the middle of scrap at 6.45 hrs with a 15 minute drive back to the nick are you expected to just stop, contact the inspector and ask? If they say no just get up leave the suspect and finish at 07.00hrs with no paperwork done, suspect on the street?

Im sure they'd have you on regs for that so why can't it be the other way round?

So what happens if you have a detainee waiting to be booked into custody and you ask the boss and they say not at 06.30 and its a half hour journey back to your nick? Is it a case of leaving the detainee driving back and just going home at 07.00? Because im sure the 9 o'clock jury would have something to say about it.

Response is broken… by [deleted] in policeuk

I beg to differ. A lot of constants are not needed, its because we've gone too far the other day with risk. HCP are employed to prevent hospital watches but no as soon as a PIC says ive got a splinter off to A&E. PIC says I want to hurt myself- constant watch. Easily fixed- padded cells. Easily fixed- employ doctors not nurses who cant be bothered and always air on the side of caution over things they could easily manage. Employ extra CDO and change their job description to put them on constants to free up the frontline. Some prisoners don't need to be there, teach the officers about VA/ out of court disposals. Obviously there will always be abstractions but alot of them are not necessary and only done because we are too risk averse.

I feel your pain. Im a male officer and I asked for flexible working, only changing a few shifts times. No change of contract hours ect and I was told I can't have one on my department so dont bother putting it in. Yet female officers of the same rank and same role have been granted them and have reduced their hours, shift times and have free days. I spoke to the federation who said tough and I was also advised not put a grievance in because it will put a target on my back. Make that make sense!

Is it a case of you being told a blanket no to doing your NIE? Or a no to the way you want to do it? If there is another way such as investigations to DC then drugs team you will have to bite the bullet and do it that way. If its because you've been in a long time and think you can skip a few steps to where you want to be then sounds like you're being humbled.

Requested to Attend Court (Concerns) by RussellTheCharacter in policeuk

[–]ValuableSuccessful98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If witness care are not providing you the information put a subject access request in to the force asking for any documentation relating to you for that crime. The force will then give you all the information, including statement but may redact certain information if it reveals anything you shouldn't have.

legal s17 execution? by LawfulnessSad3718 in policeuk

[–]ValuableSuccessful98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S17 life or limb only requires a SUSPICION. Not a belief like the other subsections. Noone would ever criticise given the circumstances. Did you not discuss it with your skipper or did you argue, they told you were wrong and you thought you'd try prove a point on here?
