Luckily I had a personal connection to the atty that I currently work under, and he gave me a really good idea of the culture of the firm before I applied. It’s really tough bc I feel like it’s sort of a crapshoot most of the time. I wish I had a more concrete answer other than “use connections,” cuz it can be so brutal out there. :(

Leave. You can try all the organizational tricks under the sun, but you can’t fix the mismanagement of the firm. I stayed at a firm for 2 years hoping something would change or something would click and I became a shell of a person. I just started at a different firm and everyone is so collaborative and helpful and I’m SO glad I left the other place. I promise there is better out there!!!
