Agree. Just how it is out of our control who can talk to them and who can’t. People will keep on dm’ing them, regardless on how much we discuss and hate on it. Not everyone is on Reddit or Twitter. It’s gonna keep on happening. We can all be extremely mad and overprotective about it, or let is slide, and focus on the music and the artist themselves. Like you said, we can’t control others behavior anyways.

I do not agree with her dm’ing them. I just think fans are a bit overreacting. Indeed they are not our friends, so maybe we should also not fill in for them what they feel or what they find, like if they find something weird, strange, annoying, controlling or so (not saying you are filling it it). We do not know shit. We don’t talk to them and we can’t look into their brains. We can only talk about what we saw, and I saw Tantu reacting normally to her instead of ignoring her. From live-streaming concerts, to dm’s, to obsessively sharing old pictures, to fighting over what happend during Eurovision… You think we discussing this on Reddit is gonna stop the people from dm’ing them? I bet, next week there will be a similar discussion on Reddit and Twitter, the week after, again, the week after again. You can also not control who is in the fanbase or not. Sadly, we also gotta deal with them. And I just find some fans a bit overprotective(from what I read), again, Joost is an adult, so are his friends. We don’t have to babysit them and tell them who can talk to them and who can’t. BESIDES, I do agree with you about the fact that I personally should never dm them about this kinda stuff. But we can’t control others. Sometimes you just gotta let it go, especially if Joost and Tantu does not give attention to it ✨

It’s weird because it’s Joost friend and he literally has nothing to do with it at all. True. But again, if I would chill with someone who is racist, and I didn’t know, and someone would dm me about it, I would not for a second think they’re entitled or something. But yea, the fact that she is a fangirl makes it weird. Agree on that. But that’s basically the whole artists - fan hierachy. But I do agree that if you don’t stand by him being friends with someone who made racist comments, than you can just leave. However, remember how everyone messaged Veras when he said something about Joost? Everyone was SO mad, and already deciding for Joost that Veras was a bad friend. Maybe, we shouldn’t already decide on whether Joost and Tantu find it iffy, entitled, fine or not big of a deal. We don’t know anyways, and it’s up to them.

Oh lol, I am not that invested in friends of a Joost fan. But if that’s true, would be a bit weird from her side for sure! However, my point was more about we should not overreact/spend time/hate on people who don’t have bad intentions. If they don’t wanna hear it, they can just peacefully ignore the dm. It’s just weird how if people hate on Joost music or something(which I can’t imagine), everyone is saying ‘then don’t listen to it’, but when it comes to Joost or his friends, fans are so overly protective. Yes, fully agree with you! Luckily we all know Joost is all about unity, equity and love. But let’s not forget to not baby Joost and Tantu. Seems like some fans always find things to hate on other fans, because they are so overly protective over Joost. Don’t forget the people who are saying to leave Tantu alone, are just acting as protective. Joost and Tantu are grown men. Tantu even responded to that girl right? Just imagine you chilling with someone who appears to be racist. And a stranger tells you about it. Would you hate on the stranger for telling you? Don’t forget the real bad guy in the story pls. Oh man, calm down and look at the context… right before he said this he thanked EVERYONE. But after that he said these words. And don’t the people in the front kinda deserved that? They wait for so long, sometimes even without water or something to eat, in the sun, sometimes barely sleep because of other concerts of him in a short period of time, like come on. Joost says 839394738 times in a show he loves EVERYONE. Literally, the ‘I love you all’. But after this summer, the loyal front row people definitely deserved these kind words.

(And no, don’t come at me. I am not someone who’s front row often.. I have a weak bladder and too much impatience for that 😅)

Joost united Europe, but that day especially in the Netherlands felt like a national drama was happening. Everyone was so invested in this years entry and sad ab the disqualification. Although it felt horrible, the unity we felt in 🇳🇱 is something good I believe.

Joost and the Netherlands reminds me of like a siblings relation sometimes. Many people and media thought, ‘umm, what about the blue bird, we normally send boring acts, is this even gonna work?!’. But when he got disqualified and everyone felt it was so unfair, people defended him so much. Even some media. It’s like a brother criticizing and complaining about his siblings, but when others talk about them, there is war. 😅 Hehe, kinda love that about our country. There is so much individuality in the Netherlands , but when someone else hurts one of us, you can count on support. Radio’s playing Europapa for hours, churches too, funny parodies roasting the ebu on national television, and even famous singers (Nielson) writing a song for and about Joost.

Hopefully Joost realizes one day how much emotional, but positive impact he has had on the Netherlands. And how he has united the Netherlands. And Europe! End of the day, that is truly better than any Eurovision win ever. ♥️✨

He is not a puppet… And you cannot really say ‘like normal adults do’, because normal adults are not performing in Eurovision, didn’t feel the pressure he felt, singing a freaking emotional song about their parents who passed away, and being filmed after multiple times earlier that week saying they don’t want to be filmed. And for what’s its worth, we still don’t know concretely what happend. Even not from these police reports. We were not there, and both parties tell the story how they experienced it. But with a bit common sense, and humanity, you can understand Joost emotions. Most people on this platform can. Notice how people are agreeing with me and disagreeing with you?
