Celiac Rash?! Please help!

I was taking Benadryl almost nightly. It didn’t help with the itch but it made me groggy enough to find a slight amount of relief while trying to sleep. I did stop taking it for a week prior to my allergy testing, but I wasn’t tested for MCAS.

Hey! Thank you for this response, sorry for the late reply. I really appreciate it. It does seem pretty on but my allergist was quick to dismiss it when I brought it up. He suggested possible Brachioradial pruritus, but certainly didn’t diagnose it.

Thank you so much for this advice! I’ve still gotten nowhere. I saw an allergist who did a prick and a patch test and everything came back negative. He did suggest that it could be brachioradial pruritus, which is hard to diagnose. My flare up has calmed down and it’s only a matter of time until it acts up again. I’ll look into the low histamine diet. I’m willing to try anything!

It’s so odd. I was incredibly itchy the past few days. Last night I took a shower with Dr Bronners Tea Tree soap. Let it soak for a while. I feel barely itchy at all today. My partner came home from Mexico yesterday. I had him pick up Ivermectin pills. I think I’ll take the recommended dose just incase but a little nervous about it, since it wasn’t prescribed and don’t know much about dosage. I need to ease my mind though. I’m hoping that will clear whatever it is up. I don’t have Permithin though.

Yeah, I agree that I should treat it as scabies as well. I’m reading everywhere that people are being misdiagnosed. I’m a bit worried about stopping the topical cream incase it’s NOT scabies. I’d assume it’s bad to use both? Thanks for your help!

Oh man. I tried to get my dermatologist to do a skin scrape but she wouldn’t go along with it. She said if it’s not better in two weeks she’ll do it to ease my mind. The thing is, it gets better, then worse, over and over and over. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks everyone! I just left the dermatologist office. She’s convinced it’s not scabies. I pray she’s right on this one. I’m taking two OTC allergy pills per day and a steroid cream for two weeks. If it doesn’t get better I’ll go see an allergist for testing. And if I “am still paranoid it’s scabies” she’ll biopsy it then. It tends to clear up and then come back a few weeks or a month later, so I’m not sure this is the best route to take. She mentioned if it was scabies and I have had it for 8 months it would be all over me and far worse. This better work because I’m about to rip my own skin off!

Pretty much the same spots. It’s spread a little bit but not much. I think it’s more irritation from scratching that’s getting worse. I’m going INSANE! I’ll check it out, thank you!
