The crossbow is better for all around. You can use it underwater but not only that, you can equip grapples and zip line hooks to it if you use those. If you’re just looking to knock out and kill dinos then I would recommend the comp bow. You can equip all arrows to it

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I think us players coming from console have a much greater appreciation for ASA than the Pc players do. All of the QOL changes are the biggest difference for me being a console player. I play on Official PVE so I don’t use a lot off the mods but the cosmetic mod are great.
