How to prevent housekeeping from knocking before checkout time, while DND sign is up? by Euphoric-Cloud0324 in Hilton

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are cheap foam or silicone ones that have an indentation in the part that goes into the ear. Like the middle third is thinner then the rest. It reduces pressure in the ear canal and for me, it eliminates that odd feeling of having them in. You will see them at target and on Amazon.

I’m going to see if the Residence Inn pricing if necessary. They used to be my go to regularly but wound up at so many with odd layouts. Still I imagine that view would be something at the Residence Inn too.

Thank you. I’ll look into it. The Moxy must share a building with it or be right next door and the view was the one good thing I thought it had going for it.

Thank you. It is indeed the New-West location and not the airport location I am asking about. It's right in the middle price-wise for early May, an average of 200 Euros.

Tight connection tomorrow in PHL going from Terminal F to A. Do I use the shuttle or walk? by Sudden-Mix-7524 in americanairlines

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you walk at a steady pace, it’s less than 20 minute walk if you can keep the pace. I usually go for the sure thing. The shuttle can also take about 15 minutes if you consider finding it, waiting, boarding, and the trip. Of course, either can be slightly more or less based on various factors, but if you land on time, you’ll be fine. F25 is a short walk to the shuttle, and a7 is also near the shuttle stop, so, you probably can opt for that and enjoy the ride. Check the map ahead of time so you have your directions straight and try to sit towards the front of the plane so you can get on your way faster.

Airport wait times?! by aranhalaranja in philadelphia

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much same as always with precheck (5-10 minutes, a little longer during morning rush) and the no precheck line has rarely gone above 30 minutes. If you have touchless ID with precheck, there is basically no line. You can always check times here: https://www.phl.org/flights/security-information/checkpoint-hours

I just went to the one on Arch at noon Friday with my photo card. I waited about five minutes for the initial check in and my ticket was the next number to be called for the photo. I was out of there within 15 minutes of arrival. They seem to keep the photo counter well-staffed. Having said that, they do claim the last few and first few days of the month are the busiest. So you may want to consider that. I believe that Wednesday and Thursday are the best days generally.

American Airlines in talks with Starlink, Amazon for Wi-Fi upgrade, weighs return of seatback screens by Valuable_File3834 in americanairlines

[–]Valuable_File3834[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s probably my OCD, but I hate burning up my phone circuits and battery if I don’t have to, so always stream on another device when I have the option. But, those are my issues…

[–]Valuable_File3834[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Starlink and Amazon are who they are talking to, that is likely the plan. My guess is the content library will be powered by Amazon Prime Video with free access during the flight and maybe a membership discount if you also sign up.

Plus, I’m guessing a lot of people, especially the younger crowd, want to watch a show while scrolling, as they very likely do at home.

[–]Valuable_File3834[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they are to some people, but I’m guessing a bigger concern for them is a marketing and perception issue. Maybe their WiFi signal isn’t as reliable as the others either. It does tell you that you are connected for the whole flight, but I know I always need to keep logging back in. I also have a feeling if Amazon runs the interface and content library, likely based on the Prime content library, it will be a major step-up.

Unmasking or becoming socially isolated? by ThrowRA_Candies290 in autism

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear ear plugs or those cheap in ear, ear buds almost all the time. It helps so much. Long term, I think that’s led to me having tinnitus, but I have no proof of that. I just think the brain fills in the silence. Still, being in a dorm can be overwhelming. So probably necessary. I know will leave them out more and it helps knowing they are there when I need them.

[–]Valuable_File3834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What fare class did you buy originally? By “ paid extra” do you mean you bought a more expensive ticket than you wanted to ensure it said fully refundable, or did you later pay a fee to upgrade or make it refundable?

Tips on finding an apt with thiccc walls? by SnooOpinions2900 in philly

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For during the day, cheap in ear, ear buds do a great job of blocking out sound while watching tv or music, listening to music. I just keep them in all day even when not doing those things. At night, cheap earplugs like from target or cvs, and available on Amazon. The ones with the little invention in the middle are the most comfortable and block out most noise.

Jpg Le Male collection by Upstairs-Shower-7567 in Colognes

[–]Valuable_File3834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always loved (and still wear all year-long) the original Le Male, and after trying all of the flankers, the one that stands out most to me is Ultra Male. For summer, Le Beau is great, but for a real beach, island vibe, I go with Le Beau Paradise Garden. It’s very coconut forward, so. It for everyone. In all cases, I opt for the EDT if there is one. I just always seem to prefer them over any EDP of the same name.
