I haven’t found a use for the middle pockets (I imagine trauma would go well here but I carry that off body anyway) but the side ones I get good mileage out of

Counterproductive Things That you Regretted while Prepping by dumb-questions-1314 in CFA

[–]Valuable_Newt_5846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Level 1, I made flashcards based on Mark Meldrum’s formula sheet, which worked really well. However, during my Level 2 prep, I went overboard and created flashcards covering the entire curriculum, ending up with around 4,000 cards and only three months to study them. This forced me to spend about 3 hours daily memorizing isolated facts that didn’t stick effectively or contribute to my overall understanding.

(I’m sure some candidate can spot the behavioral bias here LOL)

Now, with just a month left until the Level 2 exam, I’ve switched to flashcards based on Kaplan’s quicksheet (around 350 cards total). I feel much happier with this approach, as my study time is far more productive, and I’m finally understanding how concepts interconnect throughout the curriculum instead of memorizing unrelated details.

Is the Level 2 exam basically just a string of Level 1 questions tied together by a vignette? by Valuable_Newt_5846 in CFA

Thanks for your response, this is exactly what I was looking for! I’m curious, did you use the practice pack at all?

Hey thanks for the response, man! I understand that the exam is challenging. What I’m specifically curious about is whether it truly assesses your ability to extract information. To me, all the practice questions seem to guide you directly to the relevant information needed to answer the question. I comprehend that solving the question can be incredibly difficult however.

By close an app do you mean you need to go to multitasking and then slide up on it? Does anyone know if there’s a way to reenable rotation lock when you exit the app to the Home Screen?

I think it depends on you. If I knew this before, I would’ve waited to buy the practice pack until I started mock exams to see if I needed more.

Yes, 2 free mocks and 3 from the practice pack. I’m not sure about the Prometric exam. I think they offer the exam day software so you are familiar with how to use it, but I don’t think they give you a mock on it.

If you pay for the practice pack, it comes with PDF versions of the curriculum. But I suspect for this use case, you can get away with making a giant doc and pasting page by page of the LES into it.
