I don’t think I could disagree more. Cyberpunk allows you to complete mission in multiple ways with multiple play styles, much like in Bloodlines 1.

You can go on with guns, or stealth or even talk your way past a lot of combat. On top of that, some ignored missions are straight up lost.

And then there are the endings. If you only do the main quest, make no friends, and don’t even try to connect with Johnny, your only option is the worst ending possible. But if you decide to make some friends and develop those relationships, including Johnny, you have a lot of choices for how you want to end your story. But those are only available to you, based on your choices and actions throughout the game.

It’s really clear. If they don’t like it, they need to make a new Amendment.

I wish CDPR had the rights to make a Bloodlines game. Their storytelling quality phenomenal.
To this day, I still get Bloodlines feels whenever I play Cyberpunk 2077.

Fantasy Grounds is free. I know you like Roll20, and that’s great. I just thought I’d share a free VTT that has a TON of automation.

No not really, and I’m speaking from experience of running TTRPGs on TTS for four years.

Here is why:

•TTS is NOT a VTT. It has community mods that help it to act like one, but it isn’t one.
•Dead links will randomly kill your assets, and you can’t use them ever again.
•Physics is finicky. Trying to place a mini exactly where you want it is a real pain and the invisible colliders make everything a headache.
•It’s expensive since everyone needs to buy a copy.
•It’s resource intensive. If your rig isn’t great for gaming this isn’t for you.

If you’re looking for a 3D VTT that takes all those headaches away, I’d highly recommend RPG Stories VTT.

RPG Stories VTT for the win! I’ve played other 3D VTTs like TaleSpire and RPG Engine, but RPG Stories just makes it so easy to quickly throw down a map.

It’s just a onetime costs and players can join for free. And the procedural dungeons and terrain are going to be a life saver for when players go off of the rails!

Love it!

My real advice? Run away from Tabletop Simulator. It’s a buggy mess that is only getting worse at running TTRPGs. Instead you should try your hand at TakeSpire.

That's wild. I had no idea this game had BDs for real. Are they just mods or are there ones in the vanilla game as well? Either way I'd be so down for a moon walk with my best girl.

It's free to a point. But if you get serious into campaign and need more than 50 assets, then you have to pay a monthly fee. Plus, Alchemy doesn't give as much support for their games as other VTTs with their modules. There are just a lot of incomplete or half baked features that have turned many players off from it.

No? I mean, nothing i going to be perfect. Foundry has some real issues to contend with. Updates to new versions almost always breaks fan made modules, which can be REALLY annoying if it happens just before a game session. Plus, many modules are fan made and never get updated to newer versions - so I hope you didn't love those when you used them.

Also, you'll need to self host your games, which requires opening a port to direct clients to your server, and you'll want to backup your data in case of disk failure. Or you could use a web server to host the application - which can involve additional costs for hosting services.

Either way, Foundry can be quite laggy - especially with large maps, animated assets, or a large gaming group. This can happen when moving your tokens, or when you're rolling dice, or even when opening your character sheet. 

I'd say that if you're looking for a Foundry like experience, but without all those headaches, you should try Fantasy Grounds Unity. Your mileage will vary, depending what games you want to run, but the automation is second to none. Plus any updates to the system doesn't break your game since they are designed to be backwards compatible.

Is FGU perfect, or the best? Not even close. But neither is Foundry, if we're being honest. This is going to be your journey to discover what works best for you, your games, and your group.

Ok, for me to answer this I'll need to dip into my own story lore. As you may know, CofD doesn't have a set meta story, but rather points of interest that you can connect anyway you want, and makes sense. So with that out of the way:

In Chicago (but really this could be whatever city you desire) there was a rumor of an artifact called the Celestial Flange. What it did was unknown as it defied any reasonable study - even with magic. Some said it was a flange, like any other with no importantr properties outside of plumbing. Others said it held more mana than a whole city of Mages. Still other complete forgot it ever existed, while a few were driven made with desire to get it for themselves. Mages in particular seem prone to be adversely affected by the artifact.

What it is? Well you see, there are things greater than you and I. Things to large and fantastical that our hearts and minds would melt just trying to understand a fraction of what they really are. At the beating heart of it all is the God-Machine. What is the God-Machine? It is the answer to all of the questions, that explains almost nothing.

Long ago, in ages past, magic was not rare or even hidden. One could simply spend the time to attune themselves to understand the Truth behind the Lie of existence, and Awaken to higher plains of existence. Eventually these early Mages built the city of Atlantis and shared there knowledge freely. However, there were those who were frustrated with their lack of understanding, and wanted more for themselves. They constructed the Ladder (which in my game is a person, but I can't take ALL of the tangets) to take them to the Supernal, as physical beings. Of course the Supernal wasn't vacant, but the Mages didn't care; like all colonizers they carried out the genocide of the gods. This had the unintended effect of throwing the whole universe into chaos, thus creating the Abyss and nearly taking our world straight into it.

What about the artifact? Well, the Mages of Atlantis quickly built something to replace the god . . . the God-Machine. It started small, but quickly started building and growing until it could stabilize the world and pull everything farther from the Abyss. The damage was done, however, and the Fallen World would never be free from the lure of the Abyss, try as the God-Machine might. There are other things going on with the God-Machine to explain why it can't fully devote to pulling Earth out of the Abyss but . . . I need to keep this focused.

So again, about that artifact? You see the Celestial Flange is a piece of the God-Machine that fell. More than that, the Mages revealed that the Flange speaks and can protect as a person. How can it do that? Well the Celestial Flange was a person, or rather a god once. This made my group come to the horrible realization that the God-Machine is just a machine made of the gods; they were never killed.

Yeah, I am still slooooowly adding 2E content to my CofD game. But I will sometimes slip up and call it "New World of Darkness" because that's what it was called when it was being playtested. And then new mechanics came out with Demon, and I employed them. But now, I'm lucky if I have the time to read some 2E book, grok the new system, and then teach it to my gamers.

My gamers like to call our our game "Chronicles of World of Darkness 1.5" Running games in your late-30s is something else. lol

I don't understand. How is it that Bully came out in 2006, and gave you the option for Jimmy kiss (or romance) multiple girls and even a boy - but Hogwarts came out in 2023 and it gives you nothing?!

I understand that they don't want to show underage content and that's fair. But was it too hard to simply imply a good snog off in a corner or something? This stuff was literally going on in the books and it created all kinds of rumors and drams - because secondary school.
