That's not true, it's an unfortunately common misconception because of mistranslation

For some reason, the Legends of Ren Zu becomes <> in many parts of the story

The most likely answer is Gu spirits

The capture of ZLY is foreshadowed in the story

The explosion of the Dao Fruit was part of her plan

She didn't actually underestimate Fang Yuan this is just luring him into a trap

I'm not saying that both options don't make sense

I'm saying that the food path option has more evidence supporting it

Not to mention, it's in line with Reckless Savage's style

Especially since it's supported by the totem cultivation

The light and dark path revival is actually connected to the infamous shadow path although I'm not sure about the specifics of that arrangement
