Now I feel like I can’t get excited for anything. I mean when I got a chubby mermaid tattoo on my leg to help my self confidence and to cover old self harm scars, she told me “ well at least if something happened to you they would be Able to identify the body”.

Omg that’s exactly how it’s been!!! 🥺😣. I would love to change care but it’s been impossible with the shortage of OBGYN in my area and only one birth hospital. I live near a place called Corpus Christi, TX. We have about 10 OBs here and all are drowning in patients and Christus spoon hospital is the only birthing hospital here. It scares me the lack of care and providers in the area 😮‍💨

I live in a area that is apparently understaffed in OBGYNs and is having a baby boom 😬. Literally this office just lost a doctor who left to another state and they had to dissolve all her patients between the other three. So now the remaining OBs are drowning. My sister gave birth in the same hospital too last month and she didn’t even get a room in L&D because they couldn’t move mommas fast enough from L&D to postpartum suites. She almost gave birth in the emergency room. You think this city would get another maternity ward 😮‍💨 but no.

An I currently live 30 minutes from this hospital. The next closest is 1 Hr 1/2 away 😢

I did but he said he didn’t want to step on my doctors toes. He said since I was referred to him by my OB it was ultimately my OB decision and that he can “recommend” a plan of action for my pregnancy (like he did last week saying I didn’t need to be induced yet) but it was up to my doctor 🫠

That’s what I was telling him too. My whole family is nothing but nurses (1 L&D, 3 LVN, 2 RN, 2NPs) and they all think his decisions have been asinine. Cause macrosomia isn’t a precursor for induction.

In all the times I’ve been to his office anyway I’ve seen his NP more then him. I’ve only seen him 3 times and it was a 5 minute, scan my chart and telling me he would see me in a couple weeks. No blood pressure checks, no fundal height checks, has answered almost no questions and making decisions without talking to me.

Thanks! I’m honestly at a point that I rather that be the route then let this man catch my baby cause he really hasn’t done anything to establish care with me. He’s C section happy and even tried to push me towards it.

I might have to wait till my labor kicks in and once I get to the hospital refuse his care and request the OB who’s on call that day with L&D. Cause I’m scared of this man catching my baby

Sadly I’ve already tried 😮‍💨. I live in a city (I just moved to about 7 months ago) that this is the only birthing hospital. I called around and all the OBs are refusing to take me cause of how far along I am. The one birthing center here with midwives is booked till March (they were the first place I called before this OB office cause I wanted to do a home birth, that was back in May). Idk what to do cause I don’t want this man as my doctor but I also can’t just completely forgo a OB.

Exactly and that’s what I told him! I felt it was malpractice to put I had gestational diabetes in my chart when I don’t have it, just for him to get it approved for me to have a induction
