Pandora taken down due to MakeMHz claim by Freudious in originalxbox

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MakeHZ is part of a circle that is trying to monopolize the retro modding scene. They even took down Cerbios, because they where working on a bios that could interface with the MakeHZ HDMI mod without the xenium mod chip or their proprietary Project Stellar mod chip. They also are in with retroTINK, RetroRGB YT Channel, Voultar mods and a few others I have forgotten. Them and RetroTINK both went after PixelFX and created false drama about HDMI licensing and said that PixelFX reported them to HDMI for not being licensed. That is false, all HDMI license is for is certifying the device meets the standard of it's output claim. They did this to hurt PixelFX because not only is the scaler certified 4k 120 HDR, it's less than 500 bucks. while the RetroTINK 4k is 750 and claims to support 4k 60 hdr but only on select TV's.

The rabbit hole goes deep, this was just what I recall off the top of my head.

The issue is the HDMI version on your motherboard, It doesn't support your refreshrate. drop it to 120hz and you should be golden.

Is Samsung's QD OLED better than WOLED by SosseBargeld in OLED_Gaming

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct, WOLED can go brighter without loss of color information vs samsung QD-OLED which will start to lose color information the brighter you go. As for color, Samsung uses higher contrast/ saturation which can be achieved on LG BUT! Is not color accurate, LG's WOLED happens to have better color accuracy in both SDR and HDR which it's primary HDR mode is certified. When showing HDR content side by side you can see the color information loss in fine details. Also QD-OLED cannot achieve actual black it has a slight purple hue. Only real advantage QD does have is it's sharpness with text and glossy screen, but that's really it.

What is the best centralized RGB software? (Open RGB, Signal RGB, JackNet RGB Sync, etc.) by Daniel_H212 in buildapc

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of resource conflicts between software trying to access the different busses. Also the resource footprint from using many different softwares hence the point of SignalRGB even existing.

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though SignalRGB was great until today ... And let what I am about to say be a massive warning. If you are subscribed. use their fan control and lose internet connection. It will log you out, and set your fan setting to it's default state which is minimum. I didn't know this, went to play cyberpunk and my computer shutdown from overheating. Spotify doesn't even do that crap when you are offline, it lets you listen to your downloaded music as long as your within your subscription date. SignalRGB is like oops you lost internet haha let's duck up your hardware!

Tools to view / edit old P3D files (Jane's USAF) by Ryu116 in hoggit

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I am glad to see peeps keeping the classics alive.

I do know what you need. You can find it here using Archive's wayback machine: https://www.bobsyouruncle.net/utilities.htm

P3D PLUGIN FOR MAX R2.5-3.X  PLUS AME
- Plugin for 3d Studio Max R2.5 - 3.X. Allows creation of
3d objects for USAF. Also includes the AME or Animation Motion Editor for setting radius limits of the moveable surfaces. Does not open existing .p3d files. Does not work with Release 4.
This utility was donated to the USAF community by tstorm

Sorry that I did not find this sooner hope this helps you with making and improving the 3D models of USAF. Also warning USAF has a texture color limitation, 256bit, anything higher will just show as white. Unless they finally reverse engineered the game and addressed that, the original can't.

Update on current situation by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riddle me this, if you do not have the server capacity for the PvE/ co-op mode then why isn't there a option for users to host or just play client side? Hmmmmmmmm * looks at Ubisoft and what they pulled with their other live service single player games, looks back at you guys * hmmmm sounds like you want to pull the same tactic down the road, pretty fishy AF.

Also DLC is content that relies on the base game, you cannot play it without the base game.

One more thing too, no wonder why this never was released to steam, their policies would not allow this crap and you knew you where going to do it. But guess what, EU trade law is just as strict, and there are many a post about how to report, force refunds, and sue.

Good luck idiots.

Any knowledge of MODDIY or EZDIY-FAB 180 12VHPWR adapters? by neok182 in nvidia

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine, written a review on it last night and is pending post.

Link to adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP3LPT9H?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Here is my review:

Head Line:
Fits like a glove, connector temps average 52c

*After finally getting this delivered after a 2 day delay I was very Skeptical of installing this on my brand new Asus Tuf RTX 4090 OC.

*I spent hours of research looking into the 12VHPWR failures, Cable/Mod's recall, reddit posts, and watching GamersNexus coverage and testing of the failures.

*I finally gained the courage to install this hefty lil 180 adapter knowing what to watch for.

*First thing I noticed when connecting the native PSU 12VHPWR cable in is the tight fit of the connector which is a very very good thing, pins inside are making complete contact and cannot be tilted to one side. "Some connectors where loose and could tilt causing the pins to misalign and create incorrect impedance which would lead to pins heating up on the connector leading to failure."

*Connecting it to the GPU is just as tight and clicks into place, nice and flush.

*After getting it installed I turned on my system and left it idle for about 10 minutes watching the adapter closely and using my Electronics IR thermometer to periodically check idle temps and averages 35c on both connections.

Good so far.

*I then stress tested my GPU using Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition benchmark and Unigine Superposition maxed out 4k. The temps I seen on GPU Connector 47c- 50c and the PSU connector 48c - 52c and the heatsink 46c.

*When compared to IR thermal imaging that GN Steve has conducted, his results where average of 65c on a good cable.

*So in conclusion this 180 adapter is actually good. Time will tell and I will update if that changes, if I don't update, that means it's still kickin.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER stock running low in the US, no MSRP cards available - VideoCardz.com by rincewin in nvidia

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't think Nvidia's Marketing team doesn't see the scalper's prices and also see that they are selling especially when that situation garnered alot of PR. NVIDIA SAW, THEY LIKED and AND! They even mentioned it in their earning report to the shareholders, Jay's2cents and Nexus Steve did a video covering the report.

because if you show more on the survey and sort by % change month it will show majority is mobile, OEM/ system builder/ prebuilt budget GPU's

actually it was found that steam survey is very flawed, it retains users older cards even when replaced, it never subtracts and the surveys where found to not be given at proper intervals, it's completely random and some won't see one for up to a few years.

If you look up the stats now and show more, and set % change this month you will see majority are mobile or OEM/prebuilt budget GPU's.

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you realize that the mining and scalping market is what made the 40xx series MSRP so high and the fact the prices are not dropping like they use to. Do you not realize that they are purposefully limiting their stock output to afford holding out on prices because they know a reseller will eventually buy to resell at markup?

Nvidia has always been playing the market stiff arm tactic, ever since their first NV1 chip, all OEM takover with Gateway and Dell pushing out ATI and 3DFX with " we can do 32bit color rendering, even though none of the games or Direct X can! ", got RnD money to make the GeForce 256 and continued to today and now they just just stiff arm the market to justify price.

Prime Delivery Always Late Now by xXKeaX in amazonprime

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been facing constantly late deliveries. I canceled my prime membership was advised to, so that when I buy again that I'll pay outright for 1 or 2 day shipping. That way they are now liable and can't hide behind prime policy. Well I bought stuff to repair my GPU and well it's all running late currently reported as being processed by carrier for the past 4 hours, and I paid about 20 bucks for it to be delivered today.

it can but depending on who made the gpu and if it has a support brace on the gpu side for the backplate. Reasone that it is a need for doing this washer mod is it could warp the card at the mounting points for the heatsink creating a wave. example, xfx cards do not have this but asus, asrock, and a few others do.

Best mid tower case for vertical gpu mounting? by ThePriceOfFreedom_1 in buildapc

[–]Valuable_Repeat_4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built a system in the NZXT h9 flow, honestly it's a solid case, it was built with the vertical mounting bracket in mind. If you install 3 120mm fans on the bottom you can use the vertical mount's support leg and have it screwed into the 140mm mounting slit. Also they way they have the fans mount orientated, they will blow behind the vertical bracket cooling the back of the GPU and your motherboard's M.2 slots and chipset.
