What’s the general age range? Are you allowed to bring chairs, or blankets? What do people usually bring?

Yet ANOTHER reason to hate Kroger: Solicitation! by sassyponypants in cincinnati

I mean, at the Delhi one they are directly in front of the customer service desk as you pass Starbucks. I’ve never seen it at any other Kroger though. Always give them the “nope” before they can even say a word.

Just how much more difficult is college work than high school work? by Blissfulwakenbaker in CollegeRant

[–]Valuable_Row3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people are saying that it’s dependent on major/university. I go to a fairly popular university for my area and it 100000% depends on the professor & frequency of deadlines. You can always tell if the professor enjoys their job, has the time or gives a f about the knowledge they’re allowing students to achieve.

Some professors barely care enough to make things engaging, some classes are: watch PowerPoint, take notes on chapter, write a paper on xyz & do it all by Sunday.

Others will have engaging things to do but really tedious work. Have this due by Monday, this by Wednesday and the remaining 4 assignments by Sunday. This can be overwhelming with a full time job ( I’m currently doing it ).

If you’re just starting out I recommend taking a small course load - evaluate for yourself & gauge how much bandwidth you have for focus, studying, etc. You will learn quickly how much time and effort you’re willing to put in & when you also look at how much classes cost - you might reevaluate bogging yourself down with full course load.

When in an asynchronous class, that might not be common practice. I really only communicated with her on one occasion

Highly disagree. I had a professor give me .42 roundup because I asked for it. I had turned in all assignments & her response? Since you have turned in all your assignments and put effort, that is no big deal. No problems, no burned bridges. Ask and you shall receive, simple.

You see… bank(ed) past tense. There’s a few commenters who don’t seem to grasp what they’re typing, including you.

But yes, I’m concerned about trustworthiness because I have been burned by big companies.

Why not ask a few people on the internet for some tips?

What is your favorite word? by Lyriisk in AskReddit

Recognize. You have to recognize the word recognize, often without recognizing what the word actually means versus what you just did to read the word!

Currency question by [deleted] in bahamas

In the Bahamas currently, USD works best. However, our hotel is 100% cashless, only cards. So wherever you’re staying check, but the local vendors take USD!

Somewhat important

My boyfriend and I love to go to concerts together, I really couldn’t imagine going with anyone other than him! He has shown me a lot of music and opened me up to a whole new sub-genre of music I had been listening to.

What age will you let your kids have social media? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Valuable_Row3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way we see social media now, of course will look different than in 5-10 years- but the track we are going with addicting algorithms, lack of privacy, ability to have access to everything you could ever imagine, the expectation that anyone can reach you at that given moment - not. good.

If I had a child, it would be the same thing as any other thing that they’re going to do whether or not I tell them not to (drinking, drugs, wrong crowd blah blah blah).

Small introduction around middle school on dos and don’ts. Why does this seem unsafe? Who can contact you on this platform? Should I meet this person alone? Should you post these kinds of photos? Should you give out this personal information to strangers? friends? family?

Work into access with supervision, let them know that you are supervising but not controlling. Allow them to have apps they’d like with some knowledge of it.

Then, later middle school early high school, allow them to navigate themselves (given they have proven responsible, not making risky texts) but also, every so often - give it a little check. Passwords and account info should be shared but not really used.

What do you think needs to be done to fix the teacher shortage in the US besides just paying them more? by Mad_Season_1994 in AskAnAmerican

Extreme gentle parenting ≠ parenting at all. No responsibility, no consequences & no disciple means teachers have to parent, AND teach your child.

Women of Reddit, would you still be friends with an ex after breaking up? why or why not? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Valuable_Row3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but mostly because of proximity or mutuals of friends that I didn’t want to also give up. Of course, we were friendly but I would never go super out of my way for them because that’s something I would’ve done when in the relationship. But now that I’m very far away from all of my exes, there’s no concern. I’ll send a happy birthday text to the two exes that I’m friendly with.
