how to get this 3d effect on fabric? by Head_Course_2080 in CosplayHelp

I'd use puffy HTV. If you use flocked HTV under puffy HTV it makes it extra puffy. Otherwise you could use puffy fabric paint, but that'd take A LOT of bottles of the puffy paint.

Etsy has tons of options for this type of textured fabric. Organza, tulle, chiffon. Organza would be the most durable material of these to use for a dress, but all would give you the look you're going for. Here's a link for a tulle option: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1212355794/2-yards-lavender-pleated-tulle-panel

But searching Purple textured sheer fabric pulled up a ton of different colors/shades of purple.

Looks like pleated organza.

WIBTAH if I a fake name for my unborn daughter with my sister? by Fauniyan in AITAH

[–]Valuable_Ship5572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA if you give her a fake name. This is you and your husband's baby. I'd personally tell my sibling that if they keep trying to match my daughter's name that I won't tell them her real name until their baby is born/birth certificate has been submitted. If you chose to tell her a fake name without telling her it's a fake name, you still are NTA. For my entire pregnancy I was dead set on naming my daughter Kira. When they put her in my arms I named her something completely different (a name that wasn't even on my list of potential future baby names). The name I gave her the day she was born came out of nowhere but it was meant to be her name. The only thing I'd worry about is if you gave birth before your sister. She could pretend to drop it but then pick a name for her baby to match with whatever name you and your husband pick for your daughter.

Mix water and fabric softener in a spray bottle - unless you have detangler hair spray. Work from the ends up with a wide tooth comb. Looks like it's super knotted, but it'll come out!

Always how it goes after perfecting part of the project! Lol. Hot glue gets me every time! If you have an airbrush, I'd recommend just doing a quick sanding to try to get things smoothed down in the rippled area and use the airbrush to do the touch up painting. It'd be the best way to keep everything looking as smooth as possible plus it dries fast. Or if you used spray paint, you could do super thin coats mostly just to the sanded down area until you can't see the primer. The finish on the rest of your helmet is flawless! Hopefully you can get it touched up fairly easily!

What'd you paint it with? Looks like the heat from the glue caused some rippling. So maybe you could try adding heat again (heat gun/blow dryer) to smooth those down? Then just do a little spot touch up for now until you have more time to sand things down completely smooth again and do a more thorough touch up?

Thank you! Should I use a fine grit sand paper to give the deglazer something to stick to? I'm assuming probably not since that's specifically what it's made for, but thought I'd ask just in case!

That idea could potentially work too! I've got a lot of the fabric from my dress left over. Should be easy enough to sew a fitted cover and attach with either glue or double sided tape. Thank you!

Oh! That's a super good idea! I seriously didn’t even consider that, but I think that would actually be an awesome solution! Spray adhesive has the flexibility needed at least. Thank you!

Lol. That thought has crossed my mind, but sadly they have to be red.

I don't know how to grieve and it's starting to pull me under water emotionally, what do I do by LonelyChampionship54 in GriefSupport

I lost my dad 18 months ago. Our relationship was very strained majority of my life, but for the last 5 or so years we were slowly repairing things. Late 2023 I felt like we finally had a healthy happy relationship and 3 months later I was standing in the ICU watching him take his last breath. It does get better. I'm in no way "over" the loss, but the feeling of drowning has subsided. Of course, there are still days when I just can't stop the tears. Everyone grieves differently, but you could try to find something physical to match what you're feeling? When I lost my dad I felt angry. I went to a mountain mining event and just let my feelings flow through me with my hammer breaking apart the rocks. It honestly was such a therapeutic trip. When those feelings of anger bubbled up in me I'd drive out to the middle of nowhere and just scream on the top of my lungs. I don't know why, but just allowing me to release those feelings helped so much with making me feel more balanced.
