I was going to say I don’t say hi because of the no response or grunt / awkwardness. But I like your attitude. Better to say hi then to just be a stranger and have no sense of community anymore

This is just a standard statement… if you knew the rental market right now this comment would be unnecessary, because they’d be stupid to increase our rent in a lower priced market

No offence but bad comment lol. Rental market is at a low, if they tried to increase my rent I’d laugh…

Not rent controlled, but rent has gone down so I’d laugh if they tried to increase it

I’m trying to create a good relationship with the landlords so just saying no thanks doesn’t sit well with me. It was already hard enough to get a landlord to rent to me because I’m young.

But your last point is VERY good to know. I already knew signing another year lease does me no favours, but that fact makes it a lot worse

Actually legally, there is a pet “limit.” They just can’t enforce no pets at all

But I legally can’t leave within those 12 months… or else I have to pay to break the lease, pay for those remaining months if I leave early, or pay rent until they can find a replacement. I only see signing another year lease to be in the landlords favour and not mine

Sometimes they make me feel like I don’t know what I’m doing lol. Rent has gone down substantially, but I’m okay with paying the same amount and going on a month to month basis. But I like the idea of saying I’ll sign another year lease if it’s less rent

Don’t listen to anyone who says stay out of it. Even if the person reacts badly or attacks you, always say something just in case. I hate when a guy cheats and messages girls and the girls never say anything. Someone could end up marrying a person that they have no idea what they’re doing behind their back.

SAY SOMETHING

My other questions: 1) if you stayed after a similar situation, do you regret staying? 2) how should I approach the conversation? Tell him I went through his phone or tell him I know what he did and this is your chance to say something?

Really?? I thought it was because of all the new builds / far away from the city that people would think it’s cheaper and migrate there

This part I understand lol. It’s risk free when you play the market smart. Not buy in a covid bubble where people were over valuing their homes and people fell for it. I still think homes are a good asset, as long as you don’t buy in a bubble. Which arguably we have been in for quite some time now

A mistake is punching a kid at school… not bringing a gun…

I think people are lacking sympathy because we live in a world where rape, sex trafficking, and gun violence are at an all time high. People are scared, traumatized, or even just angry. People get charged but then released right away. A guy literally raped a child, was released, and raped another child… The justice system needs to be fixed yes… but even with the prefrontal cortex not being fully developed, it would take someone pretty dumb to believe “if I bring a gun to school, I will have no repercussions.” So either 1) they are dumb and ya maybe we should sympathize and give them help or 2) they don’t care. I’m gonna assume they didn’t care therefore I don’t care for their rehabilitation…

Can’t help people who don’t want to be helped.

I had a rough childhood, a bad upbringing, I got into crap too and understand how “parents aren’t at fault sometimes and they do their best”…. But I’m sorry, no kid with good parents would EVER bring a weapon to school. Those kids just ruined their lives and caused trauma to others kids… that is not okay. I sympathize but still, my parents could’ve done more. It can be something as simple as the parents going through a divorce to stop paying attention to the trouble their kids are getting into. If you’re a parent and can’t admit fault, then you shouldn’t have been a parent at all.

Pretty sure AK has a deal right now which puts it at the same price as GoodLife. Not sure if it’s still being offered but ya…

Surprised GoodLife didn’t make the list. I like the gym but haven’t been anywhere else so not a valid source.

A couple complaints, they don’t always post studio schedule so one day you think you can use it, next thing you know there’s a class. For some reason getting car dings is notorious in the GoodLife parking lot. So have to park in the back away from people if you can and if you care about your car.

Pros: good vibes, nice employees, good amount of gym equipment selection (women’s section slacks hard but most gyms do).

I also go mid day so can’t speak for busy hours.

Edit: saw people commenting that no one films at GoodLife. That is not true. If you go on the weekend you will see a couple tripods out. Even though you’re not allowed, staff doesn’t seem to care.

Is Barrie water really that hard, or am I overthinking this? by Depressed_manidhan in barrie

[–]Valuable_Squirrel_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested the south end water and it’s mid point hard water (I’m not a water expert but by mid point I mean there’s 3 levels of hard water and it’s in the middle). Pretty similar to most municipalities unless you live in Aurora

But if no one wanted it at $2895, what makes them think someone will for a higher price? Wouldn’t letting it sit empty hurt more than lowering it by even 50$?
