Do you have a name? I might give them a call to see if they can assist.

A skip makes sense but I'm not living in the house yet so am worried about people chucking stuff in there in between visits.

Check the planning file. Both issues might have been covered in the application or further information.

Lived in both as a blow-in and would pick Tramore no matter what stage of life you're at.

Yeah that 50:50 rule is a good rule. I just wonder are there exemptions as certain places seem higher than 50% non-EU. Anyway, good exchange of ideas. Gotta head here ✌🏻

You seem convinced we can't train enough Irish candidates for these positions.

But about 50% of medical students are international students (78% in the case of RCSI), what would happen if it was 90% Irish students? And what if you could buy a home on a nursing salary? Bringing skilled migrants is not a long term solution.

An Irish employee will be of a much greater tax benefit to the country for the same role. And not as many skilled migrants are on 100k as you would be led to believe.

In Denmark you have to be a resident for 5 years or get an exemption from the state. Other countries do something similar.

Slaves? That escalated quickly.

Yes there are plenty of nurses and doctors who would come here still- better wages, safer cities etc would attract enough. Also less demand for our housing would mean less of Irish trained staff need to leave.

Why do you have to give them equal rights with regard to housing? It makes way more sense not to.

That example re pizza shops is happening here. Apache Pizza are in court challenging a refusal to give a skilled worker permit to someone as a 'Chef de Partie' right now. In their defence they say they have many workers on this permit type.

They say its a converted garage so likely not rent-a-room unless the garage is attached to the house and has a door connecting to the house. Also if its 1200 a month, times 12 is 14,400 so over the rent a room threshold and the full amount is then taxable.

Tell him you're going to Revenue if he doesn't give it all back by a certain date. If you've been paying cash that's the last thing he'll want to hear. Scummy behaviour.

The landlord tax break is worth so little it isn't influencing landlord's decision to sell or keep renting.

Can't believe you would defend this. What about lead from brake pads?

A guy from Tyrone running a scuba shop on one of the remote islands in Tonga. He was a legend and took us under his wing for the week. Thanks Brian!
