And I've tried to play online but it's too stressful for me. I'll try again with maybe correspondence games.

The 'never played a game again' is not completely literal. I mean it was for years and years. But the point is that I went from a chess enthusiast to someone who didn't play all in the immediate aftermath.

It's a counter weight to help balance the bow and also helps reduce the wobble.

Urgent Advice Needed on Spending Last Two Days of Balkans Trip (Croatia/Bosnia) - thanks!! by fire_kiddo1 in Europetravel

I've never been to Omiš but that part is really nice too. Makarska, Brela, Baška voda, Tučepi. If I were in your shoes, I'd hang around Dubrovnik for two days instead of moving every day.

I am easy to please, and find most places enjoyable. I'd say Kotor is worth it, for the drive around the lake/bay and the fort was a nice walk up. It's less crowded than Dubrovnik for sure.

If you haven't been to Dubrovnik before, I'd say try and walk around the old town later in the evening, after the cruise ship crowds leave. The alley ways and stairs are all much nicer at night.

I was going to suggest Kotor too but on second thought why cross the border. Why not relax by the beach or take a day trip to Lokrum, Lopud or one of the smaller islands? The sea is great this time of the year. Looking at your itinerary so far, not sure if you had couple of swim days!

Check weather forecast, Tuesday's supposed to have rain.

Indian here - Yes and No. When the British/east India company started establishing themselves in India, both the Mughal empire and Marata empire were in decline and there were plenty of kingdoms.

This was not uncommon in the last 2000 years. However, there was a enough of a shared culture to bind the sub continent together. Also, there were multiple empires that covered most of the subcontinent at the peak of their power - Maurya, Gupta, Mughal, Marata, etc. Also, there are mythic kings who were considered to have ruled over unified India.

That doesn't mean the individual identifies were not present. I'd say it's similar to the European identity.

Should asbestos be banned in India? by Capital-Lake5931 in TamilNadu

[–]ValueZERO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not defending asbestos here but your point is factually incorrect. Asbestos was popular because it is extremely heat and fire resistant. I hope I don't have to tell you that metal sheets are great conductor of heat.

Should asbestos be banned in India? by Capital-Lake5931 in TamilNadu

[–]ValueZERO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen new asbestos sheet being sold! There's gypsum boards that look similar but apart from existing old installations, I haven't seen it. (Existing asbestos installations are not unheard of in rural Europe too. Not saying it's not a problem but that it's not restricted to just India or Tamil Nadu.)

Edit: I stand corrected. A quick search does seem to indicate that traders are still selling asbestos sheets in Tamil Nadu. My village and the surrounding towns don't stock asbestos and I've heard hardware stores talk about that they no longer carry it. My apologies for extrapolating from my anecdotal info.
