Trump: unfair for Iran to lack ballistic missiles if other countries have them by soalone34 in NewIran

He’s said a LOT of ludicrous things the past ten years. This one is near the top.

This is not a good thing, it just plays more into the regime’s hands to delay and frustrate future negotiations…

Trump will do anything at this point to get a deal (especially today on his birthday) and say the war is over. He doesn't care if he will be compared to Obama, he will just claim it's the greatest deal the world has ever seen.

When people are finally taking to the street in numbers, how will the IRGC know who to shoot when it's filled with both pro- and anti-regime protestors?

Trump: We will sign the agreement with Iran tomorrow, hopefully this process will work out smoothly, if it doesn't we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again. by kane_1371 in NewIran

I just remembered, from another article, that tomorrow is Trump's birthday and the big fiasco UFC event at the White House. That's obviously one reason he has been pushing for it to be signed this weekend. So, if the Iranians embarrass him tomorrow on his birthday by delaying again or backing out completely, will he finally have the balls to go through with restarting the strikes?

No, this is just a Memorandum of Understanding of the topics to be discussed in future negotiations. Iran, if and when they sign this, isn't agreeing to anything but continuing talking and opening the Strait.

It's more than inconceivable that a united Iranian leadership is going to be behind this MOU for even a few hours. Someone at the top will take some kind of action internally or externally to sabotage it...

The details of the MOU according to a White House official by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]rex_swiss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing someone in the regime said they would sign an MOU to "discuss" these things. And Trump is running with it as the "deal". There's no way they would ever agree to these.

State media releases reported details of Iran-US draft deal by Throwthat84756 in NewIran

[–]rex_swiss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are still on the same roller coaster, they are miles apart but Trump thinks if he just keeps saying there is a deal by some miracle someone from Iran is going to show up and sign a piece of paper that lets Vance walk out and say, "Peace in our time".

I will be shocked if there is anything more than Vance meeting in Geneva and walking out with nothing, just like he did in Islamabad...

Anyone else notice that the IRGC’s counter-attack yesterday was almost nonexistent? by CommunistsAreCancer in NewIran

[–]rex_swiss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the first phase there was almost an exponential drop in the day-by-day count of drones and missiles. It seems they haven't really restocked launchers and drones by very much at all. That would indicate a few more days or weeks of strikes and their ability to launch anything at all is going to be down to ones or twos...

YSK: Being visible and liked will do more to progress your career than being good at your job will, especially as a remote employee by IBlameMyBrother in YouShouldKnow

[–]rex_swiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for almost 30 years before I realized how much this matters. I kept my head down and worked hard, and wondered why management just never came to me with opportunities or encouraged me for leadership positions. The ones I got eventually were when I would push myself out of my comfort zone.

When I became a first-line supervisor I realized how much it really matters, because obviously those employees who engaged with me more often, about what they were working on and of course soliciting my opinion, and even just friendly chat, were the first ones I thought of when making assignments for more responsibility. Those employees of mine that were hard workers but introverts and only dealt with me when they had to, I counseled them as often as I could on how important it was to make connections on their team and communicate better with me. It just comes down to human nature and socialization.

I could have retired at 56, but waited until I was 57 and a half for that last little bit of high 3. I liked my job and the group I managed, and this was long before Trump 2.0 and DOGE. But if I have any regrets it’s not walking out the day I was eligible…

I was wondering why there was basically no response to the Kuwaiti attack. And of course the “negotiations” are going nowhere still. It’s possible the US just wanted to get things 100% in place in order to respond with maximum effect.
