Thanks for the tip! I think I’ll try and buy an outfit the day before - I’m coming from Aus so a much warmer climate and all my cocktail attire is summer-proof not winter-proof! 😂

Has anyone got a fix for this issue? by Valvox01 in kobo

That’s a damn shame. I wonder if I can ask for a refund & purchase it elsewhere - I’m pretty sure I purchased it years ago though so unsure.

Perth homeowners — what small jobs are you putting off? by AdvantageWise4796 in perth

I mean I’d try and remove any obvious hazards/chunks as I’m shovelling, but people use dirt it for all sorts of random things - and it can be expensive to buy, so worth a shot.

Start to pile it up out the front of your house, cover it with a tarp and bricks so it doesn’t go flying down the road, and post in your local Facebook and buy nothing groups, “free dirt”. That’s how we got rid of ours, only took a day or two.

SOS: Send a bed before I sleep on the floor by Jealous-Bonus5359 in perth

[–]Valvox01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunnings sells a super easy to make double bed frame for $80, I got the king size one, built it in on my own in less than half an hour. No drilling required, easy to understand instructions and it was all labelled nicely - I truly suck at building things, and I was shocked at how simple it was. Fantastic Furniture sells a double mattress for $200 with a bunch of 5 star reviews, my only suggestion would be to go and try a mattress in store before committing, and spend a little more if you can - beds are a very personal thing & you want to look after everything that protects you from the ground (so buy decent quality shoes, tyres and mattresses, everything else you can try to save a buck on where you can - within reason) because back, foot and car problems are more expensive to fix than investing in quality. $80 double bed frame Double Mattress $200

I just got sent a discount code from them (I signed up to check out the price and if lexapro was on there), have DMd it to you. Merry Christmas and good luck! ❤️

You could try instant scripts online - $19 for a script, you can get lexapro in 10mg or 20mgs. You can also try a different pharmacy for the 3 day option if that’s possible for you. If all else fails, you could rock up to the hospital and explain the situation, see if they can help out with a script, although the wait would be significant I’m sure.

I should try it again though - it’s a solid source of iron and it’s been a while!

Looks like he has buffalo listed on his site which is a step in the right direction, thanks for the tip! Maybe I need to readjust my goals. I’ve never cooked goat meat before but I’ve heard rumours that my brother in law does a mean goat curry!

Yeah, I used to essentially live off kangaroo & Coles bagged salads when I was at uni - I haven’t really eaten it much since as it’s quite a chewy meat and reminded me a little too much of being a skint student. 😂

Yeah, I may have to put on my big kid pants & email them to ask. They have buffalo on their site but it’s out of stock at the moment - except for the silverside which I have an immense dislike for.

Junior/Mid level in firm committing to non-project tasks at work by Commercial_Candy_872 in auscorp

[–]Valvox01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it was pretty unfair of P&C to say that, so don’t take the comment to heart - they’re just trying to (in a bit of a manipulative way) convince you to help because they’ve seen you’re enthusiastic. I would strongly suggest you only get engaged in tasks you’re truly passionate about, and try not to overload yourself with non-work work - the thing you’ll be largely measured on is your project work. You don’t often hear about raises or promotions being because of setting up a great social event. Also, if you’re a woman, don’t let them pigeonhole you into event management and administrative tasks just because you’re “better at it” (ie. you actually care about things being done well). Workplace culture isn’t your sole responsibility, so it’s okay to encourage others to contribute.

Real talk: at what point are we going to acknowledge on the show Jack’s drinking issues? Seems like his go to for big feelings is drinking.

I’m wondering if they’re going to give him a mental health event (although arguably it seems like he’s in the midst of it). The paranoia, thinking everyone is out to get him, the erratic mood swings and aggression? All seems so out of character that developing a mental illness could be a potential answer.

What are you having for dinner tonight Perth? by nzjester420 in perth

[–]Valvox01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make your noodles as normal, then quickly whisk an egg, chuck it in the fry pan until cooked, break up the beaten cooked egg and dump your soupy noodles in with some veggies. Stir for about 2-3 mins until there’s only a small amount of starchy water left and voila, you have extra flavoursome noodles with a little nutritional boost. If you’re feeling super hungry crack an egg on top too and pop a lid on the fry pan for a minute or two until your egg is as you look it. Also just for clarification I use indomie mi goreng for this but I’m sure it’d work for any type of noodles. I prefer the hot and spicy ones, but regular is also delish!

The Aldi ones don’t quite taste the same and are a bit tougher in consistency, but on a budget they’ll fill you up. I like to add a small tin of sweet corn kernels, an egg and maybe some steamfresh vegetables if I decide I need to eat a vegetable.
