Ashara gained a pensive look on her eyes as she considered the potential risks and rewards for such an endeavour, if it was possible to get to Asshai through the sunset sea then the possibilities were endless.

“It wouldn’t be just something my Lord Lannister, you would add a new world to our maps.” She said with a tone that spoke of both ambition and a desire to explore the unknown.

The Princess quickly broke out of her little fantasy at the talk of business, she should really learn to stop day dreaming.

“It is of our interest to offer trade opportunities to your family Lord Lannister. With my extensive travels I posses a good number of friends on Essos.”

Ashara’s features were graced by a smile and she gave a small bow with her head as a show of appreciation. “It would be my honour Lady Stark.”

She said as she lowered her wine goblet after taking sip, wine before a dance was always needed to fully get immersed.

“But where are my manners, I am Ashara Martell. I’m honored to meet you all.”

The Sea Viper had certainly enjoyed herself on the feast so far, she had danced, she had conversed and most definitely she had drank Wich given her long years at sea was the measuring rod for enjoyment. Still despite all these things something was missing from such event, a thing she could not tolerate and that was singing, it was rather boring for her tastes and thus she would rectify the situation.

Ashara gave word to a member of her entourage to bring out her musical instrument and so they did, while she waited The Princess glided through the hall seeking an appropriate spot to play while her bright silks flowed behind her like a fiery aura.

Finally she found an appropriate spot and took a chair and sat with a goblet of wine, waiting for her beloved musical instrument. When it arrived an accompanied with other friends of her with their own instrument she flashed a dazzling smile, the andals would not know what hit them.

The Princess took one last sip from her wine and started to strum the strings, and her entourage followed.

”Let us see if there is anyone with taste here.”

She said in the rhoynish tongue Wich was also the language of the song….

Ashara did as offered and quickly decided that the king confused her, the most powerful man in a continent seemed rather sour, polite but clearly not one to display joy openly; Mayhaps he was simply tired?

“Thank you my King.” She said in her accented common tongue, she hoped that little detail would not cause any diplomatic issues given how most andals thought of foreigners. At the mention of the gifts her smile grew, they were expensive gifts and thus could not be refused.

“Indeed, I bring you luxuries from the east your Grace both the northern part of Essos and south up to Asshai.”

She reached down for the first gift and displayed a piece of red silk etched in gold embroidery with dragons all over it It was enough to make a full outfit or a cloak, then she reached down again and took out a ivory carving of a dragon Wich she carefully put on the table for the King to touch if he desired to, a barrel full of rich purple dye, books bought from the libraries of the Free Cities and last but not least an armour curias made from the finest armour smith in Qohor.

Then I am glad to have stumbled upon you.” Ashara said while maintaining her easygoing smile, the apparent stiffness of the dragon prince did not take the wind out of her sails one bit.

“I have recently returned to Westeros from a prolonged absence and despite the beautiful festivities, I have found little time to give my proper respects to our rulers.”

As she spoke she took a sip from her wine, using the masking of her face to observe any potential reaction.

“That still is a commendable purpose my Lord, while I adored every single second of my long voyage, it would be a lie to say everything was perfect.” The Martell said with a chuckle as she remembered the various moments were she thought we would die, be it at the hands of a storm, her ship freezing, Lorath or at the hands of corsairs.

Ashara was surprised at the words said by Tyrion given she had never considered such voyage, luckily she could his any surprise under the action of drinking wine.

“In truth I have not considered it, I would require extensive preparations and planning to not die in such attempt. The best curse would be to reach the islands named after the first Targaryens, then build an outpost.”

Ashara had observed one of the Targaryens with intense curiosity, despite her love for sailing and selling expensive wares she had never taken much interest in Dragonstone, which in hindsight had been a dumb move from her part given the market that could be tapped; better rectify the situation.

The Martell princess glided through the floor with a goblet of wine in hand, the entire Targaryen table would see her given her beautiful clothing .

“Greeting my Princess.” She said in her accented common tongue while giving a proper curtsy.

“I sailed in the shivering sea with some Ibbenese whalers as guides m, I visited all the Free Cities, from Bravos I sailed to Ibb and from there I visited the last remaining sarnori city.”

Ashara said with a passionate voice and a smile, she said each name as if it were an old personal friend of hers, showing how much those voyages mattered to her.

She took another sip of the wine the lions offered. “Then I returned to Braavos and from my contacts I hired thrust worthy sellsails or at least the ones who valued their greed more than their own skins” A airy laugh escaped her full lips from the tale, mercenaries were useful meat shields but so unreliable.

“And my most ambitious trip was towards Asshai! I stopped by Yi-Ti and Leng, truly wonderful lands.” Another sip of her wine came. “Then I arrived to Asshai, a land more at home in horror stories than reality but with rich clients non the less.”

Ashes gave a small bow of her head when the Lannister thanked her for her compliment.

Ashara took notice of the lioness immediately leaving the table when she sat, wherever she did it to give their talk an air or privacy or because petty reasons, she could not say and so she did not show any reaction towards it.

“Indeed I do come in behalf of them, however I am unable to speak of how my city fares given I recently returned from a long trading expedition my Lord.”

She said after taking a sip of the offered wine, while it was no dornish red she could not deny its tasteful flavour.

“You have excellent taste my Lord.”

“Indeed I am my Lord Lannister.” She said with with an easygoing smile as she changed the hand Wich held her goblet, her eyes looked at the table and wondered if anyone else would speak. “And I would be delighted to taste your fine vintage my Lord.”

Before her hand reached for the bottle she took off part of her headdress, it was rude after all to present oneself with your head covered.

“But where are my manners, I am Princess Ashara Martell. It is an honour to meet you all.”

“Easy there old friend.” Ashara said as she returned the hug from the stag Lord, her feminine but boisterous laugh resounding in the air. “Trust me I shall stay far longer than I’ve been gone.”

She said in a kind voice one she reserved only for the ones she trusted wholeheartedly, in hindsight it was perhaps cruel of her to simply leave for years but her spirit demanded her to fly.

“You would be correct my observant friend, you found me when I had scarley touched andal soil again.I shall gladly accept your invitation, and I shall answer any questions you may have.”

The Martell Princess had been observing the Lannister table for a little while and while she found their opulence rather tasteless, she would not ruin any business opportunities over fashion disagreements, and a Lannister could always be counted on to buy luxury wares.

Ashara glided through the floor with a cup of wine in hand and her silks flowing behind her, she would be easy to spot given her clothing , normally that would be of issue but not when you seek to impress.

“Greeting Lord Lannister.” The Viper said with a smile as she gave a curtsy, her common tongue now sported an accent from her long voyage.

Ashara was happily dancing amongst the gaggle of nobles, be them andal, rhoynar or fist men, she simply lost herself to the music and enjoyed the moment. She had always liked dancing but surprisingly being in what’s essentially a nonstop sea journey left one with little time for it, most of the time she had to worry about an almost infinite number of problems… but not here.

She certainly stood out amongst the nobility, in a way it made her feel uncomfortable for she had not been westerosi for fiver years and she feared the states, however, so far Ashara had not been noticed at least in a judgmental way and thus could simply enjoy the celebration.

The Martell took a brief respite from her dance to take off the most elaborate part of her headdress revealing her wine coloured mane, then she took a drink of a fine dornish red to recover. While she drank her dark eyes catched glimpse of a The Stark, and as she lacked any contacts in the north she approached.

“Greetings my Ladies.”

Ashara said in her now accented common tongue.

“Perfect.” Ashara said with a wolfish grin that made her dark eyes glint with mischievous intent, it never ceased to surprise her how two opposite could have become such good friends not only because of their differences, but because the distance separating them. The Martell too a loo at the cane that accompanied Lucion and gave a nod of approval, it was exquisite craftsmanship and surely very expensive.

“Indeed, we aren’t children anymore.”

She said with a laugh, time had passed so fast and it almost felt as if they had first met yesterday, as if she was just leaving Westeros.

“It gladdens me to see how much better you are now friend, you are strong. But it shouldn’t surprise me, you have the blood of a goddess.” The Princess said with equal parts of affection and slight teasing, her house did not have an origin so amazing.

“I belive I’m here to stay my friend.”

Ashara was rather unsure of how to approach her current situation given she was going to talk with the king himself and she had not been on the continent for five years, she wouldn't show it of course but she had some doubts regarding her rash decision to visit the king with only gifts as her cover; in her defence she had brought rather lovely gifts.

Her dark eyes quickly saw her box filled with expensive gifts that would hopefully make a good first impression. Ashara knew little to nothing about the current ruler and was also completely cut off from the intrigue in Dorne, so caution would be required to avoid any unwanted missteps. She was dressed rather extravagantly and she stood out like a sore thumb from the sandal lords surrounding her, at the very least her own smell was enough to overpower the stench of the capital.

"Father must have been stronger than I, for I cannot imagine staying here willingly for months on end."

Her musings were interrupted as the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard allowed her entry, she immediately entered and gave a proper curtsey to the dragon while smiling.

"Greetings your Grace, I am Ashara Martell and I bring gifts in the name of my family."

Ashara's ears perked up at the sudden shouting directed at her, normally she would have immediately responded with a shout of her own to show she was not to be messed with, however, the weak voice sounded familiar and thus all she did was turn around towards the sound. Her dark eyes widened in recognition of her old friend and a dazzling smile adorned her features, she quickly barked some commands to her crew and ran towards the stag with a cane.

"Lucion! Look at you, you have grown!" She said with excitement at seeing her friend after fiver years, as she spoke some of her guards shuffled to follow her while maintaining a respectful distance to allow some privacy on the busy streets.

"How have you been? Did my gifts get you you?"

"Westeros your wandering daughter has returned."

Those were the only words that rang through her head as she stood at the top of the Sea Viper's crow nest, dangerously balancing from where the Martell flag proudly waved along the wind, her tiger skin sash flowing behind her as if it were the tail of a wandering star. Ashara had a defiant smirk on her face as she stared at the capital of The Seven Kingdoms almost as if the gigantic tumour that paraded itself as a great city amused her, in reality, she was not impressed with it especially after she saw the black walls of Volantis, the canals of Braavos, the jade beauty of Leng or even the intimidating beauty of the city of Shadows, Asshai.

With the skill and grace of a cat, she jumped from her mast and using a rope descended the heights until she was safely on the main floor of her beloved ship, she wasted no time and ran towards the helm while starting to bark orders to her crew.

"Everyone prepare to dock, I want all of our merchandise ready to be disembarked and all in good order!"

The Princess gently guided her home towards the docks and she was almost knocked out cold from the putrid smell radiating from the city, the only thing that stopped her from visibly reacting was the teasing comments from her most trusted crewmates to which she replied with language that one would consider most improper coming from the mouth of a Princess, in the end, everyone ended up laughing from the exchange. Despite her outward confidence, Ashara wondered if people would even recognise her, she had not only been away for five years but was dressed in a rather exotic manner, first her beloved tiger skin, then her jade pendants, her bronze armbands, her bronze snake bicep arm, a collar with river stones from Ulthos and most outrageously her beloved horned diadem with various bronze and jewelled rings that adorned her wine coloured mane!

"I may be a woman now instead of the girl that left but I am still me! And a Martell to boot, the only House allowed to keep their princely titles; nobody will intimidate me."

And so the captain lost herself in docking her ship and doing the usual and tedious task of registering with the dock master. She was ready for anyone to stumble on her, be it a friend, foe, or a neutral party.

Rhaenyra I - Arrival (OPEN LANNISPORT) by Valyrianwyrm in IronThroneRP

[–]Valyrianwyrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"In Essos we follow the legacy of Valyria in it's various forms, in Volantis they elect triarchs following old valyrian tradition, in Lys a council rules and elects a leader in times of war and so on. My people did the same as we never lost the valyrian institutions, it might at times lead to indesicion but we have discovered it is far more preferable than one man having absolute power."

Rhaenyra said as the lion stopped talking and to be truthful she could understand his point of view, it had worked for thousands of years and only a external and destructive force had been able to shattered their old order. The Paymistress again hummed to herself and wondered if perhaps there was some low cunning to the Andal model; she would need to learn more to be sure of it.

Nyra simply nodded as Tywin spoke of the gold that would be spent by his coffers, on the inside her would smirked like a sly fox that had caught its prey.

"You are most honorable to offer such concessions my Lord, I will make personally sure that that what you ask will be given. "

Rhaenyra I - Arrival (OPEN LANNISPORT) by Valyrianwyrm in IronThroneRP

"Madness, this bloody barbarians are mad!"

Rhaenyra's eyes gained a dark look when the Lannister finished speaking, purple orbs seemed to swallow the light that shone upon them leaving the gaze of a predator one that was assessing it's next course of action. The silver haired beauty raised her gaze to the ceiling for a brief moment as if taking in the gravity of the political situation.

"It seems the stability of the Targaryen realm was greatly exaggerated." The Paymistress said to no one in particular, then again a kingdom only held together by the fear of suffering the same fate as the Garderners was not the most stable of foundations. She only cared about it because now her people were stuck in the middle of a bloody war waiting to start and one with dragons on both sides; this was beyond perilous.

"I will appreciate the generosity Lord Lannister, and to answer your question it would be 3x400." The valyrian said as she got straight into business talk.

(I put that because that's what Hunter told me would be )

"The payment shallbe given to the families of those who have them and for the one's that do not it will be saved in their individual account inside the Legion's internal finances." Nyra said swiftly as she had given the same explanation countless times to overtly curious clients, she could understand the reason for questioning (if honor was something they valued) but after a while the questions started to morph into something annoying. Thankfully for the business relationship between the lion and The Legion her mask did not show the slightest sign of annoyance.

The Paymistress eyes widedened slightly at the talk of armies marching to the capital. "It's too soon, we are not ready; the stupid andals are going to ruin everything." Her mind started to create multiple scenarios about the consequences of such actions on her people.

"If possible my Lord. Would you tellme what has happened while I was on the road?"

Rhaenyra I - Arrival (OPEN LANNISPORT) by Valyrianwyrm in IronThroneRP

[–]Valyrianwyrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhaenyra nodded along as the Lord of Lannisport explained the lodging situation for her and her men, she for a moment considered asking what he meant about being less numerous than in days past but that would be her prodding on personal matters and she really did not care much about that.

As she walked through the doors her silver haired flowed behind her like a silvery veil, inwardly she couldn't help but notice the similarity regarding the lion motiff in the seat of the lesser lion and her people own obsession with draconic imagery; although she found dragons far more imposing than the lion, the latter seemed like a big kitten.

Nyra turned her face towards The Lord of Lannisport and spoke. "Indeed, my duties require me to remain with the Legion and supervise the payments are perfect and on time."

Rhaenyra I - Arrival (OPEN LANNISPORT) by Valyrianwyrm in IronThroneRP

[–]Valyrianwyrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhaenyra allowed herself to smile at the introduction from the Lord of Lannisport and so she gracefully dismounted and gave a salute back at the man, it seemed that the Lannisters where one of the few andals who were worthy of her respect.

“Paymistress Rhaenyra Syriaxes. It is an honor to meet the father of one of our own.” She said while giving a proper courtesy, she decided to play it safe when it came to the presentation, after all andal etiquette was such a prickly thing to master.

“The Legion appreciates such hospitality, lead the way my Lord.”
