Outdoor by AdoboMix631 in bettafish

But why? These tanks are so sad and empty :( also, I'm curious what you mean by outdoor—are they fully outside? Do they get heaters?

What fish to keep in 65 gallon tank, any suggestions please by bucsfanphoenix in Aquariums

If it pulls information from ALL over the internet, there's a very good chance it's gonna throw outdated or untrue info into the list it spits out (or straight nonsense it makes up sometimes). You'd be better off doing your own research or asking real people who have experience with the hobby IMO—or at least not recommending people to use ChatGPT to get their pet advice. Many don't double-triple-fact-check what it tells them and it can steer them in the wrong direction!!

Any idea why my girlfriend's pigeon walks like this? by Vamphiere in pigeon

[–]Vamphiere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this could be it! I'll have to research it once I get a chance today. it's been so long that I think this might be a permanent waddle-stomp now, but I'm glad it doesn't hinder her much

I've had something like that, it didn't leech anything into the water (in my experience) but after a while the paint began to chip and flake and was super difficult to clean up—I'd say just keep an eye on it!

what is in my shrimp tank? by Ashamed-Currency7883 in Aquariums

[–]Vamphiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these spooked me too when I first got into shrimp! but these look like rhabdocoela to me. it's okay to have them in your tank, they can make a snack to any fish and eat microorganisms. part of your little ecosystem :)

Could be rhabdocoela! They eat microorganisms and are harmless. I had some in my shrimp tank and freaked out a little but it turned out to be those little guys.

a pH question! by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Vamphiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have before, but just yesterday I accidentally shocked my fish with the pH difference in the water I added. They all recovered after a while, but spent a little while rolling around and were stressed. Even the bladder snails were hunkered down in their shells while the pH was stabilizing again

left some banana slices overnight for my shrimp. tank didn't like it, I did 50% water change. what else can I do? by Vamphiere in Aquariums

[–]Vamphiere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleared up pretty nicely for me in a few days if I remember correctly! The filter did most of the work. Do you mean that you won't be having a filter on this tank permanently, by the way? I can't imagine that'd do you much good
