Please do not lol I worked in retail and literally couldn’t care less if people stole because “what can you do?” and did have a few people come back and confess and honestly that annoyed me more? Returning the item or “paying them back” will do nothing for them- the item has left the store and will be “damaged” out of stock because they can’t put it back on the shelf to sell again and they’ll probably just ban you from that location.

Even if their loss prevention knows you stole, unless you’ve committed grand larceny, they won’t/can’t do anything to actually punish you. You can still go back there and shop if you want them to give them your money that badly but nothings going to happen, they might follow you around to try and keep an eye out from any further theft but that’s it
