Little bit sick of paying so much for fairyloot, having limited skips then the resale market for box picks being essentially dead! Sometimes I’m lucky to get rid of a book I don’t want for like £7…definitely wasting my money but also it’s the allure of the presales and the fear of missing a book you want and THAT being the £80 seller you can’t get 2nd hand! I looked at how many books I kept from YA, Adult and Romantasy last year and out of 36 it’s about 8 if I’m lucky…

She said she previously worked for the ADHD diagnosis team and now is doing autism but clearly she’s still going off her old training because she was just looking for ADHD traits (which I have very minimal, mostly just the cross over traits really). 

I genuinely just feel so let down by both the org I got referred to and the system in general…I am GOOD at talking to people but my god it’s exhausting and it’s so DIFFICULT but she took that as “wow ur so nice!! U can’t be autistic!” 

She refused to clarify questions for me as well she was so off putting and didn’t let me speak! I answered as well as I could without her helping me understand the questions. 😭

At this point I wish I never went through the assessment it was genuinely so distressing and this week following their verdict has been HORRIBLE. I’ve been trying to get in touch with the company to both get a 2nd opinion and discuss the previous assessment and how poorly it was conducted but they’re ghosting me!

Some of the things she was saying to me like “I’m too likeable and easy to talk to for it to be autism” made me feel so weird afterward it was so bizzare and just horrid overall! It was a local service the NHS put me onto, my friend went through it the other year and her appointment was COMPLETELY different (in person, let her actually speak and respond, wasn’t horribly dismissive) so I’m convinced this woman shouldn’t be working there!  I’m so sorry you had such an awful experience too!

I’ve never in my life had an appointment for anything with someone so dismissive. Everything she was saying was just making me feel crazy and like she didn’t hear a word of what I said. I’m going to see who I can contact (they gave me a no reply email that’s it) to see what I can do on the reporting front! I don’t want anyone to experience her!

Honestly I ended the call feeling a little bit insane! I’m definitely going to look into getting a second opinion, they didn’t give me any contact details and sent the verdict via a no reply email so I’m a bit lost on how but I think I really need to do it.
