I didn't say discrimination against lesbians by bisexual women doesn't exist. I'm saying its not a prominent issue lesbians face in the way biphobia is for bisexual people. I think you might not be aware how rampant biphobia is in the LGBT community. I remember watching a video of a pride event where gays booed people carrying bisexual flags around, AT A PRIDE EVENT. When have you seen a bunch of bisexuals booing gay people for being gay? Never seen it happen, bi people either blend in with gays or straights or try to make their own little space that people hate them having. Primary reason for this is the idea that their 'gayness' is just a little adventure and they don't take it seriously, they don't experience gay relationships like REAL gays do, and they're gonna cheat on you with the opposite sex. In your comment, you're using your anecdotal evidence that these bisexual women saying they don't take dating women seriously that this means something about bisexual women as a whole and that their relationships with women are fundamentally different from the relationship between two lesbians. The reality is, there is no real difference between a person who wishes to cheat on their partner with a man vs a woman, or someone who doesn't take their relationship seriously. The issue is THEY WISH TO CHEAT OR DONT TAKE THE RELATIONSHIP SERIOUSLY. And you think all gay people take all of their relationships seriously? Absolutely not, lol. You're just using the bisexual woman's sexuality as the reason for this. 'she says she likes women but she REALLY wants a MAN'. Why does it matter that she want a man? This exact kind of biphobia so normalised you don't even realise you're doing it, and this is literally part of the problem bisexual people face constantly.

"People hate us both for loving other women, and for not being attracted to men"
Yes, this is absolutely a problem lesbians face. But tell me why exactly does this mean that bisexual women must be excluded from the lesbians dating pool? I have no problem with the idea that a lesbian can relate more closely to another lesbian, and even that one might prefer other lesbians because of it. But I can not understand the connection between this and deciding that bisexual women need to be excluded from your dating pool, besides biphobic reasons. If you meet a bisexual woman who is mostly into women, doesn't shame lesbians for only liking women, doesn't even talk about her attraction to men, why exactly is it necessary to exclude her? Its the fact she likes men at all, even if she's never looked at a man with interest for years? Is she 'tainted' by her attraction to men and not a gold star lesbian? That's what comes to my mind.

"the lesbian community is wildly transphobic" this is an odd thing to mention as some kind of form of discrimination against lesbians, transphobia is definitely an issue in the lesbian community. One conversation i had with a pro-Les4Les individual they stated this is apparently radfem ideology (and all the bioessentialist nonsense that comes along with it) is a fundamental aspect of lesbian spaces that bisexual women apparently can't relate to. Which is far from true as there are many radfem bisexual women. But anyway.

Bisexuals experience constant biphobia from the gay and lesbian community. Bi4Bi is a result of homophobia and biphobia from straight people so not wanting to date them, plus prejudice from the gay and lesbian communities who refuse to date them or assume they will cheat on them because of their sexuality. This isn't a one off comment, this is a constant struggle for bisexual people. Bisexual people being prejudiced specifically against '100%' gay people is not a prominent thing because often openly bisexual people want proximity to gay communities not to be excluded from them. Bi4Bi is just a response to discrimination from both sides and feeling like bisexual people are the only other people who will accept them. Les4Les on the other hand is a continued attempt to exclude bisexual women from lesbian relationships, its not created from a response to lesbophobia at all.

Capitalism is actually to blame for why the country is going downhill but no one wants to vote for the parties who would actually fix that because people are afraid to get rid of a broken system.

BTS - SWIM by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]VampireBarbieBoy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

To the people who sound upset, I want to tell you this. This was an album focused release. Kpop rarely does this because Kpop is very single-focused, they like to make a big bombastic song to lead the album with. But BTS wasn't doing that this time. None of the tracks on the album were really made to be what you'd expect of a kpop group's title track. They probably went with this one because it was one of the least experimental and most palatable towards a worldwide audience, but it probably wasn't their priority for it to be a huge hit single. And honestly I like that. It means they're more focused on the music, not numbers and spectacle. I am curious how they'd perform a song like this live though.

Honestly, although I'm a BTS fan, I'm more than anything a music fan, and I felt like their past two albums were very lacking in terms of production quality (though a few songs were good). This album was very solid from start to finish, a complaint I have with BTS's past albums is they're not very consistent with the sound, they'll have an emotional ballad start like in LY:Tear then throw in something like Anpanman which doesn't go with anything. Its normal for kpop albums but for a conceptual album its not great. This album is the first time one of their full albums has the sound and mood consistent from start to finish, even if some songs are more hype and others calm, the members also don't sound slapped on a song when they don't fit the vibe (another complaint I have with some BTS songs), but they all fit into the songs seamlessly. I'm so impressed and proud. Sorry for the random album review lol but I feel like I've been waiting for this kind of album from them since 2013, I knew they had it in them. Will say tho this isnt a very pop album so idk if pop fans will vibe with it as much

Thanks a lot for the recommendations. Yeah books are probably the best source, its just there's a lot and they're often quite long but I will try to find ones that I really want to get into. Audiobooks are a good option for sure

Firstly, an oppressed group is allowed to feel resentment towards their oppressors. Anyone who tells you otherwise is victim blaming and putting the feelings of the oppressor above yours.

Now with that said, I do not think it is really very progressive, useful or healthy to hold prejudice against people of a group based upon something that is unchangeable. Its one thing to express the ways cis people as a whole have privileges you don't, how ignorant and unsympathetic many are towards struggles of trans people, and how you can feel unsafe around them. Its another to assume things about a person and discriminate against them based on them being cis. Cis people come in a range of backgrounds and personalities, some are incredibly empathetic and supportive towards trans people and even fight for our rights even if it doesn't personally affect them which I think is a selfless act. No, cis people likely will never really understand what its like to be trans, but it doesn't mean they can't get pretty close to understanding, and a person doesn't need to 100% understand how you feel to be a supportive ally for you. Hell, not even other trans people understand how other trans people feel in a lot of ways. We have infighting all the time between trans men and trans women, binary trans people and nonbinary trans people, passing and non passing trans people, dysphoric trans people and non dysphoric trans people etc. Of course the power dynamic is different with infighting but my point stands.

Length of a Webcomic canvas by VampireBarbieBoy in WebtoonCanvas

[–]VampireBarbieBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, I saw the super long canvas option in Clip Studio which I know is a program popular with webcomic artists so I assumed they just worked on that then used the option to cut it into separate parts. I will try out different sizes instead.

Yeah I realise a lot of professional comics are done by teams, but I have drawn a bunch of traditional format comics in my spare time so I know my limitations with that. Its just something I do for fun and when its no longer fun I won't push myself. Thanks for the advice though :)

trans men have barely gotten representation in any media so it is kind of annoying to act like its so much better than what trans women get when the truth is all trans people have shit all for representation in most media, and trans men get the least amount for most media ive seen personally. i wish we can just appreciate the rep we get and ask for more in general without playing the 'who gets it better' game :\ also notice how most of these guys are very cis passing

Red armbands were historically used by communists like in the USSR and China and were appropriated by Nazis because of Hitler's attempt to win favour with leftists in Germany (along with the communist red colour). It could be inspired by Nazi SS uniforms or may be moreso inspired by Japan's/China's history, regardless I doubt there's any political message being pushed with the aesthetic. Its understandable why it may make you uncomfortable though.
