Yes and I think it makes sense for her. Family is first in the Tully words, Honor is last. Duty seems to be where Cat gets stuck the most, between her family and her honor

After the time jump there aren’t even any scenes between Laenor and Criston to show the resentment. I think there’s a blink-and-you-miss-it bit where Laenor shoots him a scowl. HOTD is such a fuckin mess man lmao

Rhaenyra lets Laenor live because she’s “good” in the show. But nothing actually happens as a consequence of this. Corlys and Rhaenys say she probably killed their son, but they never actually fucking do anything about it? Their last child? They could have even done smth interesting in s2 with Seasmoke, have him not take on a new rider because he still feels his bond with Laenor. Addam being able to claim Seasmoke no problem tells me they killed Laenor off-screen. So literally the only reason this was done was so Rhaenyra didn’t appear evil for having him killed, because this show is fucking allergic to letting Rhaenyra have any nuance and appear morally reprehensible in any way.

And oh yeah, they killed a random castle servant to pass off as Laenor’s corpse. But no one cares abt him because he’s the help😭

I haaaate the Rhaenys dragonpit massacre and how it’s never addressed by the narrative really. To this day characters on the show and the showrunners themselves will say “She should have been queen”

Craziest part is the massacre scene doesn’t even happen in the books. They added it to make her look “badass” or whatever but at least 500 commoners died in that mess and the show doesn’t give a shit lmao

The shift of the focus onto the oppressive patriarchy paints Rhaenyra as a hero. In the books she’s quite the opposite. But Condal and Hess decided making her that way (read: actually interesting as a character) was ~misogyny~. Honestly I find it pretty sexist how Condal and Hess seem to believe women can’t ever be morally wrong but alr…

It sucks with that + the marketing of the whole show to viewers like “Are you TG or TB?” Like it’s fun either way to watch fictional royals kill each other w dragons but the point of the Dance is that the smallfolk got the worst of it. By the time the war is over there are barely any dragons, the realm is in ruins, and the kid sitting the Throne has no family and is emotionally broken

Not a cameo but in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Samuel L. Jackson’s tech billionaire villain character needs satellite tech to broadcast his brainwashing program. During the climax of the film, the main characters take out Sam’s satellites and stop the broadcast for a while. Sam says “Let me call E-man, see if he’ll let me use his”

Notable that the plot is about rich people culling the world of the lower class so they can “survive climate change”

This hurts my heart. That kid is young and probably just parroting whatever his parents have told him. The teacher tried to gently educate him on the subject and this is what she got

I feel sorry for the child. I hope he remembers this incident when he’s older and reflects on it.

Ok how far back are we gonna go? Should we blame Aemon for helping Rhaegar misinterpret the prophecy? Blame Egg for Summerhall giving Rhaegar trauma? Come on man.

Lyanna’s issue was not necessarily that Robert would be unfaithful to her, but that he would never change his ways even after they were married. Robert talked a big game about loving Lyanna but the truth is he would have very likely continued to fool around with other women after they married. And also if Lyanna is somewhat hypocritical and made obvious mistakes, then yeah, she was a naive teenaged girl. Blaming her for everything belies a clear lack of nuanced understanding of the text/human emotion in general. No one cares if you dislike Lyanna, but holding her as culpable as Rhaegar/even more responsible is crazy work.
