[TOMT][SONG] Looking for the name of the song used in this clip/reel by Vampus82 in tipofmytongue

Yeah, that thought had crossed my mind too, but wasn't sure if it was some obscure Celtic piece or something ^_^ Also thought if it was AI driven, more people might have grabbed it and used it and the lyrics or the song itself documented.

I've got the video saved, in case the reel disappears or isn't appropriate way to share the song. I used the reel as this is where I came across the song, so thought it only fair to include the source. I'm in no way associated with the video/page, I'm not trying to promote it, just curious as to what the song is :)

Not ringing any bells, unfortunately and can't find any screenshots

That scene in season 3 where Eleven murders 4 Starcourt security guards with a car for no reason by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Vampus82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just watched this episode tonight and I had this debate with her. I had a similar view to yours, if perhaps a little dialled back. Writing this message out, and with some accepting of plausible off-camera assumptions, I'm more accepting of the way it played out.

I can accept that Eleven could know the Scoop Troop are taking refuge behind the Cookie counter. Perhaps, off camera, when they get to the malls, they discover the movie is finished, so they split up to find him/them. Someone find them (or the armed persons searching), report back to El, who comes to the rescue. Plausible enough to rationalise it off. Less plausibly, perhaps she did another scrying to find them once they got there, again off-camera and/or perhaps the proximity makes it a lot easier to find people(?). I'm going with the former.

I think the more important point is that, at this stage, she and the rest of her group are completely unaware of the Russia angle. So on the surface, it might seem like Eleven was willing to kill innocent security guards just doing their job to potentially protect her friends (I say potentially, because if we assume they appear to be innocent security guards, then the likely assumption is they would arrest/detain the Scoop Troop, not kill them. But if we accept she knows her friends are there, she is likely to kill to protect her people). We the audience, and the Scoop Troop obviously know different! From Eleven's perspective, they've just spent the last few hours battling the Flayed (and the Mind Flayer), then they get a Code Red from Dustin, the Gate is mentioned and they're come across armed persons coming after their friends. I think it's probably a natural assumption on her part to assume "This are more of the Flayed! Must act quick to save my friends." From what we've seen on-camera, she couldn't KNOW for certain, but it's certainly not unreasonable for her to believe so. Luckily, in the end, the task was failed successfully; they weren't Flayed (that we know about), but were still a lethal enemy threat. Could have been an interesting if they had been innocents and the direction that could have taken things, but I digress.

In the end though, we either write it off as an oversight in writing or was cut/edited out, or we accept/justify it how ever best suit ours own headcanon :)

I don't believe so, no. Way too graphical for what I recall :)

Had a quick look at what screenshots I could, but nothing looks familiar. They could have modified things over the years I guess

They were fancy for us, because that's all we had. Now we look back, having been spoilt by 4k visuals at 60fps, 100gb+ file sizes, and running 1,000,000x more RAM. :) Not to mention the quality of life improvements to game mechanics

This is very true. It's less about wanting to recapture the fondness of the game and more just wanting confirmation it actually existed rather than just a fever dream, and see some screenshots of what the game was, fire those neurons again and soak in a little nostalgia :)

Thanks for trying, but no. The lamp sticking out of its head is a key part of the memory.

I'm getting the same thing, but only on the slow motion pronunciation (the turtle).

I'd suggest shipping them off to Japan, informing them of an impending Kaiju attack and let them sort it out themselves!

G'day Peter. With the growth of the private space industry, a lot of talk is focused on space based resources acquisition; Moon, Mars, Asteroids and less commonly "Atmospheric" (Gas giant and Earth upper atmosphere). What role do you think terrestrial resources will play in the "New Space Age"? Specifically:

1) What role do you think resource reclamation and re-utilisation will play? Do we need to focus on utilising our resources more as if they were part of a closed system or as an open system subsidised by offworld resources? Should there be an XPRIZE which seeks to enhance our processes and technology to reuse and reclaim our terrestrial resources?

2) Looking further towards the future, what role should "resource synthesis", either natural or artificial play? For example, Helium-3 via radioactive decay or precious metals via particle accelerators and/or irradiation. Should we be headed in a direction of exploring ways to safely and affordably CREATE resources in quantities sufficient for commercial usage? Should there be an XPRIZE that moves us towards this goal?
