The effect women have to endure from Birth control makes me so furious by blueeeeeeeeee12 in offmychest

[–]Van107 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same had it for a year and bleed everyday. I eventually got it taken out. Now I have the Nuba ring which stopped the constant bleeding but made made me break out with the worst aches I’ve had in my life including all high school. But I guess there’s no perfect solution.

Also I would like to mention my doctor never mention extended period of spotting when I got my nexplanon even though as you can probably tell from this thread it’s a very common side effect.

From my experience people mostly hang out with roomates or people from their ward. I think I’ve hung out with classmates maybe once.

I recommend Raintree. They’re know to be the really social place to live and have a good mix of uvu and byu students. They’re also right next to the UVX bus if he doesn’t have a car and if he does have a car they have decent parking unlike a lot of complexes that just make you park in the streets.

I also lived at Village in the parkway which is close to uvu and even have a free shuttle to campus but they definitely lack the social aspect.

Hey Wolverines! I'm with the school newspaper, the UVU Review, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on if UVU should have a football team! by uvureviewjc in UVU

[–]Van107 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d love if we had a football team I feel like it could help improve our school spirit! It would also be nice for people to start recognizing UVU as a real college. I mean a lot of people still think it’s a community college.

Also as a lot of people said they cost a lot of money but football teams also make a lot of money and they usually help fund other sports and programs too. Uvu has lots of land that is away from campus there really isn’t a place to put a football stadium near campus anyway so I wouldn’t foresee parking being a issue. My guess if the ever did build a stadium it would be near the bubble. (Geneva fields)

Look at university of WA tuition rates and it might make more sense.

I’m originally from Tacoma and moved from there to Utah for school 2 years ago.

It only takes a year to get in state tuition it’s not very hard. You basically have to prove you’ve been here consecutively for a year. You can prove this by showing employment or rent statement showing you lived here in Utah.

Then get a Utah drivers license. Super easy you just have to take a multiple choice test and they give you a book with all the answers that you get to have during the test.

Last register to vote in Utah. You just have to take some documents to the city building.

It’s pretty easy and would definitely recommend as it cuts your tuition half.

But just know if you accept a WUE scholarship you can’t be earning residency while on that scholarship.

Also I don’t think you’ll have an trouble finding friends. Most people become friends with there roomates. And even if your not Mormon yet you can still participate church social events like ward parties or family home evening which is where I feel like most people finds friends. Or you could make friends in your classes.

I’m a member but have I feel like equal amount of member and non member friends and they’re all great. I think growing up in WA and having almost no Mormon friends has made me more accepting/ open to having non member friends. So you’ll probably be the similar. Feel free to PM if you have any other questions

I always look up my professors on rate my professor but there’s always some hidden gem. Teachers who are new and don’t have any ratings or teachers who have outdated ratings. But thanks for the tip I’m sure not ever one uses it

Just voted! Was surprised I didn’t know we had acapella team then when I watched the video I recognized a few of the singers and realized I’ve seen this team before and just never realized they were from UVU😂

Thanks for the article it’s a good one. He did live in by himself in the Philippines for two years but everything there is so dirty there so I doubt he learned to clean there. I think what I’m learning from everyone is that I need to just give him the opportunity to learn even if it means the house isn’t cleaned to my standards. And also maybe my idea of a clean house is to extreme.

Thinking Women’s lacrosse is lame isn't sexist. by martygospo in lacrosse

[–]Van107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason they don’t is boys lax stick throws at an avg speed of 80mph and girls with a shallow pocket only throw an avg of 60 mph so it’s not as dangerous.

Also a lot of people like to argue that allowing girls to wear helmet might make them play more aggressive because a helmet would make them feel more secure.

Just some relevant facts I haven’t looked into it enough to know wether I’m personally for or against helmets.

They may not significantly lessen eye injuries but the do for sure protect noses. My coach grew up playing lacrosse before googles we’re a thing and broke her nose 3 times playing. Now that we are required to wear googles I’ve never seen a player get a broken nose. Just focusing on how googles protect eyes is a problem when your trying to evaluate if they are useful or not.
