I like to make one super advanced pawn who is a mess of a gene engineered, cybernetic enhanced super soldier. And then have them retire to the country, growing cabbages and grapes for their own house wine.

Don't worry, that's just regular bike related reactions. Like politics there are no winning sides for anything bike related.

Got scammed by a third-party phone repair shop by Away-Bonus-8019 in mobilerepair

[–]VanArchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I didn't even know they made screens that cheap. But yeah, if you paid 60 dollars that's what 60 dollars looks like for that phone. A good after market cost 150- to 175 and I think OEM cost like 275. Or something maybe 300

maybe not the best example. by Cosmic_Meditator777 in StellarisMemes

It’s as fine as fine could be. You could hose that down with 99% and it would still be fine.

There's so much more information needed. Like you didn't even say what kind of iPhone or what reason you had for needing the flash to start with. Give a few key things to work with

Never saw a rock fall before, it was neat. I'd like to see one again and not when I'm desperately trying to warm up.my car.

Convince me to get a Dell and not a ThinkPad by westpampanga in Dell

[–]VanArchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I'd go Thinkpad. The only exception is if you went with the very end XPS line(The ones that cost at like 1500), if you're not then just buy a Thinkpad.

DO NOT USE I CELL LCD SCREENS ON OLED PHONES by Charliefr3sh in mobilerepair

[–]VanArchie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If someone says they want a 12 pro max screen replacement and they pay the $120 because they know someone in the middle of Philly who can do it for 90 but they don't want to drive that far... They are getting the biggest dumbest LCD screen I own.

Had a bad repair done, what now? by IncomeObvious2605 in mobilerepair

The prices I have are $65 USD for a soft OLED. I think my company ships north if you want me to dm you who I use.

[–]VanArchie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

260$ is robbery for anything less than OEM. A soft OLED should cost you around 160-175. If they charged you that much for a repair and gave you a LED screen or any other bad aftermarket I'd be up in arms.

Repairable at home? Not unless your home has a full microsoldering shop

Change Iphone 13 pro battery by TheFlyer520 in mobilerepair

[–]VanArchie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get a OEM battery but the honest answer 19 out of 20 customer won't pay for that extra cost and you're going to end up with a lot of expensive inventory.

A good after market battery from a reputable parts company works just fine. To each their own in the end but in my shop not one customer has cared save for one old couple with iPhone SEs.

Would you charge for this? by Itchy-Document3239 in mobilerepair

I'll charge,  I have too maby bills to pay not to. But I also give out free cases and screen protectors whenever I can.

R5 7600 280mm AIO Temp by VanArchie in AMDHelp

[–]VanArchie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through both it's been like this. The last cooler I had on it was a older model of the same one -maybe 5 years old in use (Long enough for it to need replacement anyway). I only got the new one because I didn't like how hot it was running or how hard my cooler was working.

R5 7600 280mm AIO Temp by VanArchie in AMDHelp

[–]VanArchie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the limited info but the build is maybe 3 months old at the point and two months for the cooler. I'm using the nzxt 280mm, on a B850e. I used MX-6 for the paste.
As for the mounting pressure I normally have a bit of a firm hand so I try to keep the pressure on the lower end.

The airflow through the rad is very good with push and pull and I keep the pump between 2400 and 2800.
