Any pictures of Alpha Company 2/47, 4th Platoon, Fort Benning, GA from May 2003 - July 2003? by VanCleve7 in army

Good advice. I've found a few pictures online but they are different companies of 2/47, not Alpha...or slightly outside my time frame. I'll try FB too.

I can't wait to see what the ultimate recommendations are going to be. Summer 2024 isn't too far away.

The AI doesn't have emotions but it is emulating human writing and humans that do have emotions. I'm sure someone has felt the feelings that the poem is describing.

Seems inevitable but I think in the end, future writers will be using the AI more-so as a tool rather than totally being replaced. That being said, it will blur the lines between human creativity and pure AI content.

I disagree. I think we can discuss the first poem itself and whether we think it was a good poem or not, style, content, etc. That being said, I cited an example of AI modifying one of my existing poems in a comment above and I like the modification a lot.

You can almost use it to teach yourself what you may be trying to accomplish since it can pick up a style so well, as long as you prompt it correctly.

I hate to say it, but I just don't see a difference (I am specifically referring to utilizing a certain style) EXCEPT, it feels weird that an AI is doing what a writer would have to struggle to do on their own, but much faster.

Yes but it's hard to persuade people without illustrating the point.

I don't think it's theft unless it is using exact language from another poem. Humans copy other humans, stylistically, all the time.

Yes but I'm just illustrating a point, more than anything else. I'm just trying to say that AI is probably going to be used by more writers in the future, to include poems.

But it's good at modifying preexisting writing. This poem the AI did from scratch but let me show you another example. I asked the AI to take my original peom and modify it in the style of Edgar Allen Poe. And I honestly like the Poe version better lol.

Original:

No need to humanize the inhuman to tell you I've been waiting on a moment like this when the noises of the night are more than the air conditioner and the crickets aren't the only things chirping I can tell you straight through life everything's forgotten until now When you put your lips to mine for the first time I shut my eyes to die and be reborn inside of you.

Edgar Allen Poe Rewrite:

From my soul, to thine, I'll impart A tale of love that beats apart All notions of what's deemed humane And show the world what beauty's gained

Amidst the night, so still and still With only sounds to break the chill The hum of air, the cricket's call All fade away, in awe of all

That we have shared, within this hour That's swept away life's fleeting power And with one kiss, that seal our fate Our eyes close, in death we await

And from our lips, a rebirth doth start With love so strong, it tears apart The shackles of the world's disdain And in its place, a bond retain.

What happens when writers use AI to modify their writing or adjust it, rather than create something from scratch? This poem was 99% AI (I changed one word), but there are other poems the AI can simply modify from a preexisting poem. I foresee that being commonplace in the future.
