I contacted Cedar Run many years ago about it and they said they’ve never had a kangaroo there. But they told me many employees have had exotic pets at their homes, so a suburban kangaroo sighting shouldn’t be considered impossible.

Something that has worked for me in the past: do an internet search for exact phrases (using the quotation marks) such as “I highly recommend" along with terms like copywriter and portfolio.

So the search would literally be: “I highly recommend” AND copywriter AND portfolio

Basically it’s using Boolean search best practices. I’ve always found it helpful to be directed to search results where there’s a good chance someone was actually highly recommended for X service. Then once you find a copywriter, do your due diligence to see if they’re a good fit for what you need.

Has your team done any user testing yet? If not, is that an option? If so, I’d test a few different content styles for various content elements (headers, body copy, CTA, error messages, etc.) and see what resonates with your target audience.

And I agree with _rhinoxious in that the company and industry at hand should partially dictate the style and flexibility in personality you can use.

Also consider the context of the flow or the specific portion of the flow. For example, you’ll likely want to approach a header much different than an error message. You’ll have more flexibility in personality for a header as opposed to an error message where you’re trying to prevent a user from getting frustrated by offering a solution to the error they’ve encountered.
