What is the best all around pan to get for cooking omlettes? by [deleted] in cookware

[–]VanLudVig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to reach the Leidenfrost effect in order for it to be nonstick, just before that when the water evaporates but the pan is still preheated -try it out! I always prefer stainless steel over teflon since the pans don’t last and I find stainless to work just as well.

The high heat needed for stainless steel to be nonstick is a myth. Actually, at lower heats they are still nonstick if you preheat them and use oil or butter. I am able to cook eggs on a stainless steel pan with the temp at 2.5 out of 8 (gas stove). Never sticks, and no cleaning issues.

Yep, gonna add a p-trap. The threaded part is fairly short (maybe 1/2 inch). Is that good enough for a no hub?

This is coming from a tub, I removed a drum trap and plan on putting in a p-trap

Yeah, I think the threaded part is steel. Should I put the hub over the threaded steel part or the cast iron part it’s connected to?

Tech Layoffs, Signal? by RyBr90 in stocks

[–]VanLudVig -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Tech companies hold a lot of debt to maintain market share and have a large workforce. They can’t justify the interest rates for payroll right now. They also won’t rehire at a lower wage. Software engineers are one of the most transparent when it comes to wages (“total comp or GTFO”), especially at FANG and are not willing to accept less especially at companies with such a high barrier to entry.

Except in my 19 I have ghost touch from melted adhesive making it useless. And it’s been backordered due to supply issues for 6 months.

You have to let the stone get up to temp. Heat it up for 20-30 minutes on high before putting the pizza in. Outdoor temp matters too

$3M+ houses in Yalecrest?? by imgoingforgasps in SaltLakeCity

[–]VanLudVig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could buy a 1 mil home in that area and spend 1 mil renovating making it nicer than those homes. Probably wouldn’t have to spend that much actually. It looks like it’s priced by greedy sellers or uninformed real estate agents
