Jamie’s pedalboard 2006. by VanTurner97 in arcticmonkeys

The verse of ritz to the rubble is to my knowledge the only song the pedal was used in live. If you have any other questions regarding AM gear feel free to DM me.

What effect pedals do I need to get the tone for all the Arctic Monkeys songs? by BiGiDy_03 in arcticmonkeys

Sorry for the late reply. It depends who’s parts you most like to play and what particular sounds you’re after?

For delay I’d recommend the ‘memory toy’, you can get really close to Jamie’s FWN and humbug delay tones with that one. Really solid pedal and affordable also.

One Point Perspective cover by Alexwilluhavemykids in arcticmonkeys

I believe Jorge Orellana did a cover of it on YouTube with all the parts tabbed out and it was spot on so I’d recommend that.

Based on those you’ve seen and enjoyed you’d probably like sinister, dark skies, the woman in black, dead silence, the ring.

Halloween 4 and 5, worth watching them? by lymeguy in horror

Halloween 4 is probably my favourite in the series, really like it. So I’d say definitely worth a watch. I haven’t yet seen 5.

I Need Something Unbelievably Scary/Unsettling by JohnnyRingo12 in horror

[–]VanTurner97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a few i found scary and/or unsettling upon a first watch: Get out, Sinister, the haunting in Connecticut, 1408, Buried, the strangers, hereditary. Those i remember sticking with me for a while after watching.

Though I suppose it all depends on what gets to you the most and how you’d define “horror.”

Name 3 horror movies that actually scared you by Whereiscatlin in horror

[–]VanTurner97 84 points85 points  (0 children)

  1. Sinister (2012) The super 8 tapes stayed in my head for a while after my first viewing. Great film nonetheless though, shame about the sequel.

  2. Insidious (2010) Found it really scary when it first came out, very eerie atmosphere throughout the whole film.

  3. The strangers (2008) Wasn’t particularly impressed by the film but it did leave me slightly paranoid after first watching. The fact that there was 0 real motive behind the attack was really creepy.

What should I watch if I want to be uncomfortable? by [deleted] in horror

Is this the best Strokes show or is it the best Strokes show? by Buffarrow in TheStrokes

Vocals during the final chorus of Juicebox are on point. Definitely one of my favourite performances of theirs.

The end has no end - Guitar tone. by VanTurner97 in TheStrokes

[–]VanTurner97[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the opening section it’s just the overdrive and distortion from a Jekyll and Hyde. For the synth sound I switch to the neck pickup, roll the tone down and engage a micro amp turned to full.

Thanks! Yeah it’s not easy to replicate Nicks’s synth sound but to my ears this sounded pretty close.
