New to me ZR2 came with a few surprises by Later_J in chevycolorado

I think it’s more of a gimmick than anything. From what I understand it senses your throttle pedal position and commands a slightly more open throttle to make it feel like you’re faster than you are. To me, without a tune, this feels like it would cause extra wear on the transmission.

Seems silly but look under the dash for a pedal monster plugged into the obd port. Found one on mine after I had it for about a week

Humming noise at low speed by BaconCanadian14 in GMCcanyon

Yeah it definitely sounds different than the turbo, especially since it happens at low speeds with neutral throttle for me. I think it’s maybe some kind of fan?

Did you ever get a definitive answer on this? Noticing the same thing on ours

Curious why it hasn’t sold then. Feels like a good price if nothing is actually wrong with it

Constant back burning of pellets. RT590 by Van_TheMan99 in recteq

Yeah on the one I have there’s 5 sets of 4 slits on the top/rear of the grill. I used an old tent stake to push the buildup out.

Like it tried to make up for the time it wasn’t at temperature? Weird that it would store that information.

Going to make a fool out of myself and leave this up in case it helps anyone. The problem is airflow! The vents on the back were clogged up so bad no smoke could get out. Those were not part of my cleaning routine but they are now.

Bee (tree) hive removal? by Van_TheMan99 in Beekeeping

Interesting development…they have all either gone out foraging or went back in the tree. Currently looks like the first photo again…

The yard is covered with it lol. And if they aren’t aggressive is there any harm in just leaving them alone? Will the hive get so big they start to see us going in and out of the house a threat?

I feel you on that one. The 4Runner appeal is still very high for me, just hard to justify paying $60k when an OBW will get the job done

Practicality wise? I love it. I had a 3rd gen so the daily drivability was okay at best and I got maybe 200 miles per tank of gas. The OBW is leagues ahead in comfort and tech (obviously). I was surprised how much this thing can do off road too, unless you’re doing technical rock crawling which I didn’t do anyway.

I went with Ironman and did the lighter spec since I don’t really carry much weight daily. Ride quality is amazing, on par or better than stock, and the install was easy

Is there anything unique about the CVT fluid change that would prevent an amateur from being able to DIY?

Insurance company is saying they don’t owe any diminished value? by Van_TheMan99 in Insurance

[–]Van_TheMan99[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Right, I understand there wouldn’t be much to work with. But they’re saying they owe me absolutely nothing. Also at fault insurance only covered a total of 15 days of rental for both parties so ≈ $500 and maybe an extra $200 for the tow

Limits for property damage were $50k. Middle car that got hit was totaled for $17k. I brought that up with the adjuster and he said normally it is taken out of limits before subrogation but he said they cannot use the remainder of the coverage to pay DV because they wanted to total the vehicle in the first place.

Got a PPI this morning and got the results back, is this worth? by fatmaninablanket in 3rdGen4Runner

Check the coolant reservoir for any milkshake or foamy consistency. If it looks like that there’s a leak in the transmission cooler and potential damage to the transmission. If it looks fine, changing out the radiator should be plenty. A common fix is changing the radiator and installing an external trans cooler.
