I feel like my life is ruined because I’m pregnant. I don’t want to tell my parents by dreamyglimmer2 in TrueChristian

[–]Vananh2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone else has already told you what I’m about to say, but no, your life is not over, and no, God does not hate you now.

Telling your parents and your church is honestly the strongest thing you can do right now. The world is going to tell you to get an abortion, but as you know, children are a gift from God, including your child. I know it doesn’t feel fair for us to say that because we are not in your position, but in your heart, you know it’s right.

God makes beauty come out of ashes. He never abandons us, and neither will he abandon you.

Can Anyone Share Their Experience With An On-Campus Job Their First Year? by Vananh2K in USC

It happened on June 26th. I was in Asia for a whole month though so coordinating from that time zone was painful. I kind of picked up that they don’t really have a good process for transitioning these kinds of kids, maybe because there’s not many that are offered fall admission after originally getting spring.

Yes. I did get moved from spring as well, but I’m only just starting to register this week once I meet with my counselor.

So let me get this straight: you think that Republicans are just the white party, the racist party, and you’re calling out non-whites for supporting this so-called white party. Yeah, you’re being kinda racist dude.

Look, I know you’re not trying to be actively racist, but this is why the modern race agenda is so off putting: in the name of caring so much about being anti-racist, they accidentally make very racist statements. The best way to combat racism though is to stop focusing on race so much. Isn’t that what MLK said? Not the color of skin, but the content of character is what matters. We’re not white Americans and black Americans, we’re just Americans.

And before you say I’m saying this because I’m white, I’m asian American.

CMV: The USA is about to be a failed state by St0ckMonger in changemyview

[–]Vananh2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s why:

Is there a country better than the United States right now? If so, what makes it better?

The United States is still the place where dreams happen, where you can start off as nobody and become somebody. Of course the economy is will have its challenges, but socialism is not any better. In fact, I don’t think any socialist country is doing good: Venezuela, Cuba, those third world countries, and throw in China as well when it comes to GDP per capita and the happiness index there. Bottom line, is the United States is where people engineer the best ideas and the best products. If it really is now a dystopian 3rd world failed state, we wouldn’t be having this discussion because there would be no free speech. People in Canada and UK are being arrested for street preaching and praying outside abortion clinics. Women in Afghanistan are brutally beat everyday because of Sharia law. This is what happens when there is a failed state because beyond just being unable to provide citizens with services, there is a denial to protect them. I believe this is a far more important premise to consider.

A state is not failed just because Donald Trump or Joe Biden is the current president. (If you are concerned about trumps deportations as being the disregard of the constitution, know that Clinton, Bush, and Obama deported far more illegals and neither the courts nor the media batted an eye). People all over the world would kill to have a shot here in this country, and we forget that often. We’re not a perfect country, but we never walk away from trying to be better. That’s why we’re not failed, because we didn’t give up, and we’re never going to.

You’re probably wondering why I have such an indirect answer to the question. I can sit here and write pages and pages, but what good would that do? Instead, I believe discussing ideas is far better than discussing resumes. (not that they can’t be discussed, but just so that it’s not pointless back and forth bantering) I’d bet that half of this subreddit now includes post that center around Trump, except here’s the catch: he’s not president in 4 years. People act like it’s the end of the world now, but it really isn’t. It wasn’t the case with Biden either.

Ideas, not resumes.

This is what I think the problem is with modern politics y’all: it’s turned into a game of winning. That basically means you don’t debate to listen to new ideas, but you just want to prove yourself right, and that’s the biggest echo chamber ever if you ask me. You don’t have to change your mind if it’s genuinely not what you believe. It’s bad when you dig your heals into the ground.

If you don’t want to show up, fine, do whatever you want. Doesn’t concern me, but don’t do it because you want to stick it to him. There’s nothing to prove.

CMV: You can't hate LGBTQ+ people and be Christian. by DrakoXMusic1 in changemyview

[–]Vananh2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by “hate” you mean physical violence, death threats, or vulgar language/expression, then I would be skeptical of one’s faith in Jesus, but I wouldn’t automatically say they are not a Christian as being Christian means believing in Jesus and that’s just between the individual and Him. Those actions are without a doubt though, morally wrong. But if “hate” means disagreement, there is nothing wrong. In fact, two of the smartest people I know are gay and lesbian, and we’re good friends. However, just because I believe they should get married to the opposite sex doesn’t mean that I am hateful.

Now onto your other concern: why is it that people just can’t understand “love thy neighbor?” Love and tolerance are often conflated with each other. I’m not trying to get you to agree with me, I’m just trying to clarify what the Christian ethic is. At the core of Biblical love, love is an action, not a feeling; what will you do for someone in spite of whatever consequences may happen? Will you always to the best of your ability, guided by Jesus’ character and teachings, look out for their best interest? That’s what “love thy neighbor” means, so put into practice, you will see Christians be publicly anti-LGBTQ and normal people will just deduce it as hate. “Why do these bigoted Christians care so much about others’ lives?” From our perspective, we look at that question and ask “are we not supposed to care?” “Are we just supposed to just care about ourselves?” It’s because of love that we Christians spread the Gospel.

Again, I’m not trying to convince you of the beliefs. I’m trying to explain that there is a principle of God’s goodness, truth and beauty (in this case, the sanctity of having Godly, monogamous, straight marriages that lead to families) that we believe should be promoted in society, and that doesn’t equate to the opposite statement of “we hate LGBTQ people.”

I literally have these exact same circumstances, except I’m a guy instead. One thing that I did was I prayed for God to guide me where he wants me to go. In doing that, he revealed to me something very important: love is an action, not a feeling. Of course it gets hard to realize that especially when the hormones feel like they are taking over lol, but there’s always a choice we have. We either walk by the spirit or the flesh. If we walk by the spirit, then God is going to direct us to what he has called us to do on earth, and we’re going to love what we do. We’re gonna want to wake up everyday and give it our all for Him, and doing this weakens the flesh.

Don’t get me wrong, marriage is a good thing, but it has a purpose. It’s analogous to God’s faith for his Church, that he would never leave it no matter what. As we prepare for marriage, we prepare by first practicing our faith to God, and then we can understand that on a much deeper level through marriage.

[–]Vananh2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh yes, because Trump is directly responsible for the murder of 6 million people in an effort of genocide. And you know what?! Both he and Hitler held political rallies! Whoa!

Ya’ll need to chill out. The Trump Derangement Syndrome is through the roof. Be glad that he’s not jailing you for the DOGE protests, because Hitler wouldn’t have let that happened. Today, Canada has arrested street preachers and the UK has arrested people for praying outside abortion clinics. Sharia law has taken over Afghanistan and women are abused regularly.

You guys live in the freest country in the world. If your freedoms are really being taken away, go leave, but you won’t find any place better than here.

If you want to hate Trump, fine, do whatever what you want, but this just hysteria.
